"As we have opportunity, let us do good unto all,
especially unto them who are of the household of faith."
Galatians 6:10
Please be patient with me....I'm hurrying, but I took on a pretty big project here! :)
I selected this song for this particular page because I need to be reminded that
although I often think that sudden crises reveal my character,
the everday, ordinary areas of my life alone reveal my heart more than I like to admit.
Also, only what is in my heart every day can spill out in times of crises!
In every moment, I must strive to be true.
I pray that as you visit here with me you will be encouraged to be true.
"When he arrived and saw the evidence of the grace of God,
he was glad and encouraged them all to remain true to the Lord with all their hearts." Acts 11:23

I WOULD BE TRUE
I would be true, for there are those who trust me; I would be pure, for there are those who care;
I would be strong, for there is much to suffer; I would be brave, for there is much to dare;
I would be brave, for there is much to dare.
I would be friend of all-the foe, the friendless; I would be giving, and forget the gift;
I would be humble, for I know my weakness; I would look up, and laugh, and love and lift;
I would look up, and laugh, and love and lift.
I would be faithful through each passing moment; I would be constantly in touch with God;
I would be strong to follow where He leads me; I would have faith to keep the path Christ trod;
I would have faith to keep the path Christ trod.

Living Room

Let us give thanks! ...
For the flowers of Divine grace and human kindness;
for the thorns that require careful handling
and the disciplines and tasks that train us for strength and honor;
for the Kindly Light that leads us,
for the love that heals our hurts and the mercy that lifts us when we fall.
-- Joseph Fort Newton*

Country Kitchen

HELP NOT WANTED
I'll admit the steak was out of this world, the salad could not have been beaten,
but blackened potatoes are not my dish; charred onions are best not eaten.
All day I've been scouring that blackened pot and scrubbing my grease-spotted floor;
you had the oven so all-time hot, it won't be the same any more!
Henceforth my course is clearly defined, 'though for a respite I'm itchin'...
your offers of help will be firmly declined. Darling, please stay out of my kitchen!
--Lee Hendry*

Here are two of my favorite quikkies! Enjoy!
The Pilgrim's progress, we've come to know, is not a ship, journey or a rock in the least.
Our progress, instead, is in perfecting a Thanksgiving microwave feast!

Don't be afraid to ask dumb questions; they're easier to handle than dumb mistakes.*
People will not look forward to posterity who never look backward to their ancestors.*
Two little girls were visiting the museum of natural history. They had been standing for an hour in front of the mummy exhibit of the Egyptian room. Finally, one of them asked the attendant, "Do you catch them and stuff them yourself?"*

The Learning Nook

"Has education made you sympathize with all good causes, and made you eager to espouse them? Has education made you public-spirited? Has it made you a brother to the weak? Have you learned to make friends and to keep them? Do you know how to be a friend to yourself?

"Can you look an honest man or an honest woman straight in the eye? Do you see anything to love in a little child? Will a lonely dog follow you in the street? Can you be high-minded and happy in the meaner drudgeries of life? Are you good for anything to yourself? Can you be happy alone? Can you look out on the world and see anything else but dollars and cents? Can you look into a mud puddle by the wayside and see the clear sky? Can you see anything in the puddle but mud?

"If so, then you are educated."*
