Pumpkin on a vine.
Don't worry, the blue jay is plastic.

Nice green leaves on a vine.

Male flower blooming.
Males have tall stems as above.

Bee crawling out of a flower.

Female flower blooming in the early morning.
Females have short stems and infant pumpkins at their bases as above.

A real oddity: a two-headed male flower.

That two-headed male blooming the next day.

A backup vine, planted and forgotten in a pot awhile back, with a male bloom too.
It was only about a foot long (tall) at that! No pumpkins from it though.

Harvested pumpkin.

A squash vine borer larva.
Taken out of a vine.

A squash vine borer adult.
I tried my best with the flyswatter to still get a decent photo as above.
Click here for more info about this pest.

Pumpkins carved for Halloween.
