TALK BUFFY!

Here's where you can check out past and upcoming episodes of the most wicked show on television. Each one is rated on a scale of one to five stakes, with five being the best.

ANNE

What a disappointing season premiere. Buffy has run away to the big city and is working as a waitress named Anne. She can deny her legacy until some young homeless people start turning up much, much older. Meanwhile, the gang in Sunnydale has taken over slaying--with mixed results!
2.5 stakes

DEAD MAN'S PARTY

Poor Buffy, everyone has turned against her at her own welcome home party. It's time she told them all that she killed Angel even after she knew he was cured! If I have to see Xander and Cordy kiss anymore, I will puke. What is he THINKING?
3.5 stakes

FAITH, HOPE AND TRICK
Repeating June 21/22, 1999
Wow, tons of plot twists to digest in this episode. A new Slayer, Faith, is pretty butchy. But I think she's helped Buffy take slaying more seriously. Scott Hope, the new possible boyfriend, is just begging Buffy to walk all over him. I don't think he'll be around for long. And Trick--does he think he is the Eddie Murphy incarnate? (Vampire In Brooklyn sucked.)
4 stakes

BEAUTY AND THE BEASTS

Some brutal murders in the woods behind Sunnydale High suggest something monstrous is on the loose. Is it OZ? All signs point to yes, until Angel is discovered charging around by Buffy. It's certainly not the same Angel though, he's been tortured in hell for over a hundred years.
4 stakes

HOMECOMING

Good old fashioned rivalry for the Homecoming Queen crown worked amazingly well here. Buffy should have won all the way, (what a pretty dress) but at least Cordelia didn't get the crown either. Slayerfest '98 was a stupid premise. I have to deduct a half a stake for that.
4.5 stakes

BAND CANDY

Some school fundraising candy turns all the adults of Sunnydale into a bunch of irresponsible teenagers. Sorry, I can never picture Giles as the James Dean of Sunnydale. But he and Mrs. Summers as rebellious teenage loves was a pretty funny situation. (Get ready to hear what REALLY happened in the episode of EARSHOT!)
3.5 stakes

Buffy + Angel, together...for now!
REVELATIONS

Xander discovers Buffy's secret hiding place for Angel. Meanwhile, Faith's new watcher arrives from England (where else?) to whip the Slayerettes into shape. Cool fight ensues between Faith and Buffy.
4 stakes

LOVERS WALK

Spike is back, unfortunately without Druscilla. As he kidnaps Willow-the-wicca to cast a love spell, Willow and Xander find some lovin' on their own. Will Oz and Cordy find out??
4.5 stakes

Willow The Wicca
THE WISH

"I wish Buffy Summers never came to Sunnydale," spat Cordelia with a vengenance. See what would happen. Leather, sex and killing 24/7. Awesome episode!
5 stakes

AMENDS

The Christmas season brings out the worst in Angel, as he is tortured by his horrible past. Willow and Oz attempt a reconciliation. Does Angel really get toasted in the morning light? Can Buffy save his vampiric body AND soul? Ask the meteorologist!
5 stakes

GINGERBREAD

There's a witch hunt in Sunnydale after Joyce discovers the dead bodies of two children used in a sacrifice. Unfortunately, all signs point to Willow and Buffy! But who are these kids anyway?
5 stakes

HELPLESS

Buffy's 18th birthday brings with it an alarming challenge. She must be drained of all her powers and slay a menacing vampiric foe. Major plot line between Giles and Buffy (*sniff*). Don't miss this one!
5 stakes

THE ZEPPO

Xander proves his manliness by getting a new car, hanging with fast babes (woah!) and saving Sunnydale in heroic behind the scenes measures. It's a hilarious episode made even better by Xander's ability to finally ignore Cordelia!
4.5 stakes

BAD GIRLS

Have you ever? What else can a slayer do when she is stuck with a boring new watcher? REBEL! Visions of Buffy and Faith looting a weapons store and lots of unnecessary violence. But all it's all fun and games till someone loses a life!
4 stakes

CONSEQUENCES

Faith's actions come to the surface, so to speak. Unspeakable acts commited by that awful girl just have to be seen! The gang finds out about Xander and Faith as well. Why is Willow crying? Where is Oz in this episode? Trick bites it as well. Overall, a very dark episode. Not one of my favourites
3.5 stakes

DOPPELGANGLAND (Aired 02/23/99)
Willow's evil twin from an alternate reality wreaks havoc on Sunnydale. Meanwhile, Buffy is in full training mode to outdo Faith in the Watchers Council tests. Lots of laughs as well as lots of future storylines hinted at (Wesley and Cordy?). My favourite scene was the hugging one.
5 stakes

ENEMIES
Faith and the Mayor conspire to rob Angel of his soul. The plan must be seen to be believed! It will make you truly despise Faith even more (if that is possible). Cordelia continues to woo Wesley as well.
4 stakes

***Earshot has been moved out of respect for the Littleton, CO school massacre. Supposedly in the episode, Buffy overhears telepathically about a plan to violently destroy Sunnydale. There's more on this episode below.

5/4 CHOICES
Buffy and Angel contemplate what the future holds for them. Buffy, Angel and Willow break into the mayor's office, only Faith takes a hostage. Willow breaks into Mayor Wilkins' office to take a peak at the books of Ascension. Mayor Wilkins opens his Pandora's box! Cordelia has a job! I'm sorry, my memory is horrible right now! Overall, this was a so-so episode.
3 stakes

Is it really just a dream sequence?

5/11 THE PROM
Buffy must defeat a monster who is trained to attack those wearing formal attire. Cordelia's dad has lost all his money, so she must put her prom dress on layaway. Xander finds out and buys it for her after guessing her dilemma. She assumes it was Wesley who bought it, so she follows him around all night. Meanwhile, Joyce and Angel decide that it's for the best he leave Sunnydale for good. Tell that to Buffy! But he won't go without one more night with his girl. In case you were wondering, the beautiful song they danced to was 'Wild Horses' by The Sundays.
5.5 stakes!

5/18 GRADUATION DAY PT 1

Faith is up to no good, including shooting Angel with a poisonous arrow. The plot to distract Buffy from fighting the ascension works...for a while. The cure? Drain a slayer's blood. Oz and Willow share a special moment. Buffy resigns as a Slayer for the Watcher's Council. (Can I just say how great Giles is now that he has some conflict with Wesley?) Anya reveals she has seen another Ascension, and it's bad. Buffy kills Faith, but not without a fight.
5 stakes

***UPCOMING EPISODES***

7/13!! GRADUATION DAY PT 2

If you live in Canada, the episode has already aired Monday night on ASN & The New VR/RO. I'll make my review a little more detailed since you'll have to wait so long to see it!

Angel tells Willow (mistaking her for Buffy), that he never should have left her. Willow and Oz revel in how happy they are despite everything falling apart.

Buffy decides Angel must drink her blood to recover, and she punches Angel until he turns into vampire mode. Near death, Buffy is taken by Angel to the hospital. Faith survived her fall to the truck, barely. She's in a coma, and the Mayor is there. He tries to kill Buffy by smothering her, but Angel stops him.

While unconscious, Buffy has a dream with Faith telling her she must stop the mayor by "using his human weakness," which is his love for Faith. Buffy has a super-recovery, due to Faith passing on her strength to her.

Wesley tells Cordy that he is leaving America, and she is upset. They decide to share one last kiss and it is horrible! They are both relieved that the chemistry is gone, so they say a quick goodbye.

The students of Sunnydale are recruited to help fight the Mayor. Xander, using prior military knowledge (see Halloween), leads the troops in fighting him, quite effectively, I may add.

Buffy lures the Mayor's demon form (a large snake-like beast) by holding up Faith's knife, still covered in blood. "It cut into her like butter." She runs through the school, until they arrive in the library. Waiting for him are tons of dynamite, which gets detonated and trashes the whole school. Buffy escapes through a window.

In the aftermath, the surrounding fire crews step aside to reveal Angel, who just looks at Buffy for a long time. She sees him too, but remembers that he didn't want to say goodbye. He leaves and it fades to black.

Our Mutant Enemy guy is wearing a graduation cap!
NEW!
SEPTEMBER 21, 1999!! EARSHOT

Moved due to the Littleton, CO tragedy. Buffy can hear what everyone is thinking, so everyone rushes to find a cure and protect their innermost workings. Also, she attempts to thwart a plan to terrorize Sunndydale High in life imitating art imitating life.

Season Four Premiere is set for OCTOBER 5th, 1999. I'll keep you updated here!
