The Beach by Alex Garland
Excellent, excellent, excellent. Who hasn't dreamt of living on a deserted paradise? Soon to be the next Leo movie, only the scenery will be better than the book!
The Tesseract by Alex Garland
At Jeremy's insistance, I read this book. I don't know, I guess The Beach was just too good.
Memoirs of a Geisha by Arthur Golden
Snow Falling on Cedars by David Guterson
Angela's Ashes by Frank McCourt
I bought this for myself for Christmas, so I haven't read it yet. If the buzz is only half true, this will be a fantastic book!
Hannibal by Thomas Harris
The ending is lame, but it's great to see what these characters are up to after Silence of the Lambs.
The Girl's Guide to Hunting and Fishing by Melissa Bank
This is fiction, with Jane seeking out the perfect mate. Will she find it in the father figure Archie, or must she resort to "The Rules" to find the perfect catch? Great book!
Divine Secrets of the YA YA Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells
Understanding the Tarot: A Personal Teaching Guide by Juliet Sharman
Tara Road by Maeve Binchy
Owning Your Own Shadow by Robert A. Johnson
Goddesses In Every Woman by Jean Bolen
Conversations With God, Book II by Neale Donald Walsh
The Bondmaid by Catherine Lim
Monica's Story by Andrew Morton
She really got dumped on! A good one. Pull up a mega-sized bag of chips and a Diet Coke...
Flyboy Action Figure Comes With Gasmask by Jim Munroe
Hilarious book about a university student in Toronto who actually changes into a fly at will.
Girlfriend in a Coma by Kevin Coupland
A high school senior dreams of the future and leaves a mysterious note to her boyfriend. She thinks she may not be around much longer. Then, she falls into a coma and her friends must deal with this over the next twenty years. That is until she wakes up...
The Gift of Fear by Gavin de Becker
Awesome book about trusting your intuition in times of crisis, especially helpful if you are a woman. I could not put it down!
Your Heart's Desire: Instructions for Creating the Life You Really Want by Sonia Choquette
All I have to say is WOW. I read it in two sittings and I highly recommend it to anyone who has ever wondered what they REALLY want out of life. It is not always what you would think it is.
Where The Heart Is, by Billie Letts
My first Oprah book, and it was pretty well done. I read it in two sittings, and it's really touching. Novalee Nation is ditched by her boyfriend at a small town Oklahoma WalMart. She's seventeen, seven months pregnant and has $7.77 to her name.
The Vampire Armand, by Anne Rice
Yes, I'm an Interview With The Vampire groupie. It's been a while though since I've read any of them. Only on chapter one now, don't wreck it for me!
Conversations With God,by Neale Donald Walsh
Now I'm not really religious, but I think this book is about more than one religion. It's about a higher power (which I do believe in) allowing us our own power to choose our destiny. If you've read it, I'd love to talk about it.
The Bone Collectorby Jeffrey Deaver
In the same vein as Se7en, a grisly, but good, read. This was my Christmas Eve book, however inappropriate that may seem! They're shooting this movie as I write this, so be cool and read the book before you see it.
The Power Of One by Bryce Courtenay
Mykill highly recommended this book to me, and it was well worth it. It's about a young white boy growing up in a racially-tense South Africa. He goes on to being a prized boxer. Don't be a pisskop, read it now. Inkosi Ingelosi am I.:)
Into Thin Air by Jon Krakauer
It's a true story about a fateful climb on Mount Everest. Fortunately, I read it on the plane coming BACK from BC.:) A really tense read, especially if you are into mountaineering at all like I am.
Into The Woods by Jon Karkauer
Yet another true story, this time about an egotistical and misled young man who left the world behind to go and hunt in remote Alaska. No one really knows what prompted this journey, but Krakauer does a good job of assembling interviews with the last people to see him alive.
The Bible Code by Michael Drosnin
This was another Christmas book, and I finished it in two sittings as well. It has to do with world events like wars, assassinations and discoveries being encoded in the Hebrew text of the Bible. Very engrossing, and freaky too! WILL YOU CHANGE IT?
