When did you start drawing?
As soon as I figured how to keep a fat crayon clasped in my hand, I began drawing on anything I could find. My parents soon learned to keep lots of paper in the house. By age 6, I was so prolific that my mother taught me to throw my drawings away at the end of each day. By age 8, my father was bringing home boxes of drawing paper. There are no early examples of my drawing, to my knowledge.

What do you like to draw?
For many years I drew figures of women almost exclusively. However, I can draw just about anything you ask of me. Today my art work is inspired by many things, resulting in a potpourri of images reflecting not only my life, but the experiences and lifestyles of other people as well.

Have you ever thought of making money with your art?
Yes, I thought of it many times. However, I had two things working against me for many years:

  1. I did not know how to go about selling my art, getting it placed into gallery shows or published anywhere, or even how to get anyone to look at it; and
  2. The few people who had seen my art over the years reacted negatively to my subject matter or use of nudity. This made me feel like I should keep my art secret.
Fortunately, I have come to realize that my drawings are special and there are people who want to see them.
