What is M.E.?

M.E. stands for myalgic Encephalopathy. Myalgic meaning muscle and encephalo meaning brain. M.E. affects you emotionally, physically and mentally.M.E. affects your central nervous system

What are the symptoms?

Abnormal Fatigue, Physical exhaustion, Sleeping disorders, Severe Headaches, Muscle pain (myalgia), Tempreture control, Pins and needles, Weekness in fingers, hands or feet, Vertigo, Concentration difficulties, ?Memory loss, Multi-joint pain, Anxiety, Stiffness, Tachychardia, Over sensitive to light/sound, Muscle twitching, Feeling of being touched, Long term hiccups, Sore throats, Severe chest pains.

How do you get M.E.?

M.E. usually develops from a viral infection, or anything that weekens the immune system. It is not contageous.

Can it be cured?

M.E. can usually be cured in young people and children but only by time. You can't treat M.E. Things can be taken to try and help ease certain symptoms but in the long run the only thing that cures M.E. is rest and pacing.

How long does M.E. last?

The time length of M.E. varies from person to person. Some people recover after a year or two. Most people who are going to recover will do within about 10 years. Yet some people never completely recover.
