| I have been bullied from the time I first started school until last year so well over 10 years. Even though I have been bullied for a long time, the pain never fades. To this day I still live with the shame, hurt and distress these people have left on my life throughout the years. Even if the physical scars have gone, the mental ones are there, every single day I think about it, I wonder why me, what did I do that was so awful, was I really that different from everyone else?
I have been bullied for lots of different reasons and in lots of different ways, both mentally and physically. Both as scarring as each other. There are lots of different forms of bullying such as teasing, provoking, racism, physical violence and sexual abuse. If you are being bullied you cant manage it on your own. Sometimes there doesn�t seem to be anyone to talk to and when you do talk to someone it just makes it worse, there are charities that are there to help. It won�t stop unless you do something about it. Some people would say hit back, sometimes this isn�t an option. It would be stupid to strike back for example if there is a group of them and only one of you. I don�t agree with fighting bullying with violence, from my own experiences this just gets you in trouble, no-one believes what they were doing and because you get in trouble and they don�t it gets worse and worse. I learnt to shut myself off to the bullies. I would ignore them, or try to and tried not to let my emotions showed. I found this the best way to cope, and still do but this can cause a lot of other problems. Because you are hiding all your emotions all the time, you might find it harder to talk to people. Sometimes the pain of hiding everything can get too much and may lead to depression. I still even now ask why me to bullying which happened 13 years ago, let alone to the bullying which happened only a couple of days ago. I haven�t found a way to stop it, maybe you can. |
