At Parachute 04, there are going to be a number of methods of accommodating yourself, to the standard of luxury that you wish for. There is something to suit every budget, age and group. These are outlined below in 3 main topics: 'Tenting', 'Motels', and 'Other'.
Tenting The majority of weekend stayers at Parachute simply bring a tent or two, and set them up wherever they can find the best spot. There are always a number of different areas at Parachute, reserved for different people. These may include regional areas (e.g. Auckland, Nakipuke and Wellington) or if a group of over 500 books together, (e.g. through Soul Purpose magazine) they may also have their own area. Supportas also have their own area, which is often near the village and the stages. Family tenting is provided, and this area has a curfew of 12am. In finding the right tent spot, it is a matter of first come, first served. To be able to sleep in an area that has a specified group, you will need the wristband that states you are allowed to sleep there. An added bonus of the new site, in Hamilton, is that the site is flat. In previous years, precious hours of sleep have been lost when you wake up around 5am, sliding down the hill. Motels There are supposed to be over 2500 beds around the area of the Mystery Creek Events Centre, which is where Parachute 04 is being held. These will suit families, older people, or people who don't feel like tenting or caravaning on the actual site.
Other For people who feel like something different, there are always more accommodation options. Mystery Creek offers powered sites for both caravans and campervans. These will be available at Parachute 04. Unlike Parachutes that have been held in the past in Matamata, there will be enough flushing toilets and showers for everybody. The facilities at Mystery Creek have often been recognised as among the best in New Zealand. Dependent on how far you are willing to drive, there are also higher level facilities around the city of Hamilton, that will still be within driving distance of Parachute 2004. |
