VISITING MEXICO
We hope you will have a couple of days (or weeks) to visit Mexico. From Mexico City you can go almost anywhere in the country by plane or by bus. Here we suggest a couple of itineraries covering four different regions of Mexico. Unless you have a couple of months, it's impossible to "see it all" in one trip. We have tried to combine nature, culture, colonial cities and pre-hispanic sites as much as possible while keeping the distances to be travelled to a reasonable level, however it's sometimes imposible to avoid journeys of about 500 Km! Although the itineraries were designed to be travelled by car, you can reach most of the places by bus (the Mexican bus network is very good and links most villages and towns to the big cities); but of course  it will take longer.

These itineraries are based on a 10-day trip starting and finishing in Mexico City, of course you can "mix and match" the places you like most to fit your own plans. Do consider that most highways were made to link  the capital to the rest of the country, so if you want to change "direction of travel" (from the Pacif to the Gulf coast for example) you will need to go back to Mexico City.

You will notice that most of the "Maya Zone" is missing from our suggested itineraries (apart from Palenque). The reason is that it is too far to travel by land from Mexico City (only getting to Chichen-Itza will need you driving about 2000 Km!). However if you can fly to Merida or Cancun you can make a great circuit in about a week. An itinerary covering the Yucatan Peninsula will be added soon, so please visit us again!

If you want any questions or need help putting together your favourite itineray, please don't hesitate to contact us.
