I stood looking around
the church, almost in tears, and wanting to spend more time there. I
knew God was there smiling at me, I know I have to return some day soon.
(Soon there will be a picture in here of one of the windows in the cathedral,
and I think it will move many people when the see it).
I was reluctant to leave
the church, but did so. We chatted openly, and shared a special time
with Brett. We enjoyed dinner out, and a relaxed evening that will be
remembered. The following day we got up early, left for breakfast and
checked in 20 minutes before flying to San Francisco.
We arrived at San Francisco
to not be met by Tim. He was held up at work, but when he did arrive,
he was full of apologies. Tim took the rest of the day off, and showed
us the basics of the city. It was a great tour, that we enjoyed. It
gave us ideas for the next couple of days, a we would be left to our
own devices.
Even here, I knew God
was keeping an eye on us. We went to some of the rougher spots in town,
and experienced no trouble. We visited streets made famous by "Tales
of the City" by Armistead Maupin, and other sights that are important.
We rode cable cars, the
MUNI, and browsed shops. Gareth and I enjoyed the peaceful relaxed time
we had together at the end of this break. God was preparing us for the
going of our separate ways, as I headed back to Australia to work, and
he back to the UK for his own job.

Tim and Kurt took us out
and about on the Saturday and Sunday, before we travelled on to our
separate destinations on the Sunday night. I was to fly to Sydney at
11pm, Gareth was to leave at 10pm. We got me checked in, then got Gareth
to the correct departure area. Whilst he checked in I arranged my ticket
to Kalgoorlie from Perth.
