This time with the guys
was even more pleasurable as they both love singing, but have profoundly
better voices than myself. When in eth USA they had been members of
the Turtle Creek Choral, a very professional Gay Mens Choir.
One night, Fred was away
with wok, so Tom said, I think you'd enjoy this. He brought through
a documentary about the TCC.
It was telling of the chorale's
continuous struggle with members passing on, may due to HIV and AIDS
related diseases.
The story was told with
the assistance of music by a member of the choral, Kristopher Jon Anthony.
It was made even more poignant as during the recording of the film three
members of the choral passed on, and I pray they are in heaven right
now.
Tom had chosen correctly.
I was in tears before we got more than 20 minutes into the documentary.
When the last strains of "I Have
Loved" were heard, and the credits had finished, I burst into
tears, broken by the sheer power of the filming, and the story.

We spent ages holding each
other, and crying. It was the time that we became close friends. People
who trusted each other with our emotions.
When Fred returned that
night, he asked what was wrong, and when he saw the tape, he said "OH,
now I know." He knew the power of the story, and did not want to
face it again, not at that time.
My time with BT was going
well, and I was enjoying it tremendously. But just after I started there,
in fact days after, I ended up in hospital to have my appendix out.
This was a test that was to prove to be a blessing.
I was confined to home for
two weeks after the operation, without doing any form of lifting, bending,
or sudden movements. This precluded most work I may have to do, and
meant I was forced to relax. I was able to return to BT without any
problems, but two weeks down on pay.
