Nighttime Escapades
After the rehearsal dinners, we thought everyone was going to bed to rest for the big day. Unfortunately, some pigs got it into their heads that it would be more fun to sneak out and get into trouble.
Snowflake and Brownie had made plans to meet up with KB and Brook's Elvis for a walk in the moonlight. Peepers, Piggywillow and Mille decided to sneak over to the single boys cottage and play a little prank on them. As they prepared to start making ghost noises outside the windows, KB and Elvis jumped out and scared them. Peepers, Piggywillow and Mille all ran as fast as they could back to their cottage.
All the camotion (sp?) woke up Patches, Brodie, Dash, and Zorro who decided to get the girls back. They dressed up as indians and went hooping their way over to the single girls' cottage. This noise woke up Oreo, Rosie and Maggie who were chaparoning the girls. Oreo started barking and chased the boys back to their cottage and made sure Ronnie, Paddy, Sammy and Braveheart kept the boys from playing any more pranks.
With all the noise and confusion, Cinnamon managed to sneak out with Kay's girls, Forrest, Rowdy, D'artagnan, Whitey, Q and Tac. Cinnamon and Peewee suggested that they all go into town and get tatoos. Lil Bit said that it would be too far, but she had a better idea... The girls all shaved little hearts in the fur on their bellies -- that way their slaves would never know!!
Everyone soon settled in and went to sleep with dreams of weddings and valentines running through their heads.
Alan and Mowgli's Wedding - by Robyn
Ah, what a morning. Everything went perfect. At 10 a.m. Monday, Mowgli was escorted down the isle by her long-time companion, Indy. She wore a Marjorie style bridal dress with an empire waist, wide sleeves, lots of ribbons, all in white. She added a veil and a cape to it as well.
Three of the bride's sows wore the Guinevere gown; Taffy's was green, Sundae's was purple and Calliope wore blue. Pepper chose the Fiona gown in regal red while Reeses wore the Katherine dressin a black/gold mix. P.J.wore an Irish dress in purple. All the ladies wore flowered crowns. (Most of these dresses can be seen at this store).
The ringmeese chose the wedding shirt/cap ensemble shown below the dress with forrest green knee-length breeches. This was all in with the "Robin Hood" theme.
Mowgli and Alan exchanged their own written vows with the help of the priest, blessed the rings, and introduced them to the gathering. After the ceremony, everypig and other guests gathered outside the church to wish the couple well as they came out. They climbed into a horse-drawn carraige and rode off to the hotel to rest until the great dinner after Harry and Pika's wedding.
More Sights and Wedding Interlude
That afternoon, some of the pigs decided to do a bit more sightseeing. Harvey, Stinky, Michael and Nicholas wanted to see the WWII fighter planes. Sandra's Taffy, BJ's Teddy, Skittles and the BHC Teddy and the Rats decided to join them. BJ's Elvis made a lame excuse about needing his nails trimmed so he could stay behind.
Zorro and Boo wanted to go shopping, so they grabbed Kay's girls, Chester, Daisy and Dash. As they were about to leave, Tenjin, Kokopelli, Chrissie, Wheeker, Blossom, Daisy, Frisky, Sweetie and Charlie Girl stopped them so they could go too. THey had seen some of the food dishes and ribbons that Poppy, Nutmeg, Estelle and Mitzi had purchased Sunday and wanted some for themselves.
The rest of the pigs napped, snuggled or snuck off for private time alone. Hekate and Austen managed to get a small group together to play cards. The bunnies Flower, Dervish, Oberon, Yoko, Sashe, Zoe, Europa and Scooter, joined them. Frijoles and Grendel went off into the fields with Snowflake and KB to eat, er ummm, pick flowers.
Gwen and Mo were very mad at Arthur and Harley for their behavior at the bachelor party, so the two of them spent the afternoon trying to get back into the girls' good favor. Harley even brought up some ideas for their upcoming nuptuals.
Pickle, who was feeling a bit under the weather, showed up early that morning and spent the break snuggling wiht Taffy and being cared for by Sundae. What a lucky guy!
4:30 came all too quickly and the group all prepared to participate in Harry & Pika's ceremony. All boarded the bus and headed off to Shanendoah National Park for the candellight ceremony...
Harry & Pika's Wedding
After relaxing for the afternoon it was time for Harry and Pika to make their public committment to each other.
The 5pm ceremony was held in Shanendoah National Park. Because of the weather, it was held in a tent decorated inside and out with bushes, flowers and candles. All participated in making the "Robin Hood" theme come alive.
Sam and Rupert, dressed in black leggings, white poofy shirts and floppy black hats ushered the guests to their seats. John Henry entered the tent and proceeded to the front to prepare for the ceremony. He was dressed in a flowing robe of white with two royal blue velvet panels in the front. He complemented the gown with his blue suede shoes.
Just as the last of the guests were seated, the light background music took on a central tone. The wedding procession was to begin. Harry dressed in leggings, poofy shirt and a deep green floppy hat entered and bowed to all as he assumed his position in the front.
He was followed by the groomsmen and bridesmaids. The groomsmen were all dressed like Sam and Rupert. The bridesmaids wore long simple earth tone gowns and carried a small bouquet of daisys. First were Martin and Madeline. They were followed by Daisy and El Puerco, Sonic and Frijoles, Hattie and Fozzie Bear, Laalaa and Rupert, Speckle and Sam, and the junior bridesmaid and groomsman Jamon and Hattie.
Next came Bleys, the ring bearer and Hekate, the flower girl. Hekate was supposed to scatter daisy petals and parsely on the ground behind her, but she and Bleys got too excited and ate most of it. Poor Hekate ran up the aisle with her mostly empty basket as Bleys chased her trying to get the last of the munchies. Martin stopped them both and everyone calmed down for the entrance of the bride.
Pika was accompanied down the aisle by Flower and Dervish, her foster parents. She wore a long forest green gown with white accents, a wreath of daisys and parsely in her hair and carried a bunch of fresh carrots with the tops still on. A beautiful lute and pipe piece played as they progressed. Out of nowhere the song "Brick House" stared playing. John Henry had a devious grin on his face as he shot the band a look and they resumed the correct music.
Flower and Dervish gave Pika a kiss and then kissed Harry and gave her paw to him. And the ceremony began...
"We are gathered here today to celebrate the union of Harrison Ford Piggie and Pikachu Pig-Pie. They have written their own vows of committment", said John Henry.
Pika started, "Harry, I have known you for only a few months, but the bond we share is that of a lifetime. We share our bed, our food and our hay. I wheek for you when there is no more to eat and you beg for me when there are treats to be had. I give you my devotion and companionship til the end and beyond."
Harry responded, "Pika, the special bond that we share is eternal. I am glad to have you in my life, cage and food dish. I promise to always beg the slave for food, hay and treats for you and to cherish you always."
As they exchanged Pika's carrots and Harry's cilantro, John Henry
pronounced, "By the power vested in me by Graceland and papa pig Richard, I now pronounce you married!"
Cheers went up through the guests as the music resumed and the wedding party left the tent. Peepers in her barmaid costume linked arms with Taffy in his Friar Tuck costume and skipped out of the tent to the waiting bus. Forrest and D'artagnan enchanted Fluffy with their dashing hats and tights and promised her a dance when they got to the reception. Rayna's Taffy and Sundae lingered in the tent to get a few good mouthfuls of the decorations. When they realized that the decorations were being taken back to the reception, they volunteered to help carry them -- it would be no problem since the load was getting lighter as they helped.
Harry and Pika took a horse drawn carriage back to the hotel for the reception dinner and celebration. All others excitedly took the bus and wished them good luck. And the were off to dinner....
Dinner and Reception
Everyone arrived at the dinning room with an air of great excitement. Some of the guests were reunited with friends and lovers and others met new friends and some developed more intimate relationships.
Dinner was buffet style to give the waiters a bit of a break. At first this meant that a gourp of boars, Bleys, Boo, Charlie, Wysi, Sam, Jamon, Lucius, and Rawhide, played pigtrain in a circle around the table munching, but then a line formed and they had to abandon their game.
As everyone got their fill of veggies, quiches and mousses, the brides prepared to throw their bouquets. Mowgli tossed hers to a group of young girls including Sonic, Grendel, Reeses, Pepper, Tatortot, Snowflake, Princess, Tenjin and Kokopelli. In a mad rush Tatortot caught the bouquet. All eyes turned immediately to BJ's Elvis who blushed six shades
of red.
Pika tossed hers to a group including Pooh, Sable, Harriet, Chester, Boo, Kay's girls, Calliope, Taffy, Sundae, Lilah Pig, Beignet, Harmony and Peanut. Pooh caught the bouquet, but Mitzi snatched it from her hands and began devouring it. All had a good laugh and Pooh teased Harvey that they were next. Harvey tried to ignore Pooh and ran off to see who would catch the garters.
Before the garter toss, Mitzi noticed Lilah Pig was looking a little depressed and asked her what was wrong. She said, "So many eligible boars and I can't seem to meet a single one. I had really hoped I would catch the bouquet and find true love this wheekend." Mitzi felt bad for her and gave her the remains of Pika's bouquet. BJ's Teddy who was still feeling the loss of Mocha joined Lilah and Mitzi and offered to be her date for the rest of the wheekend. This perked Lilah up and she hurried Teddy off to the garter toss.
Alan tossed Mowgli's garter first. In the group were BJ's Elvis, Teddy, Skittles, Taffy, Michael, Nicholas, Harvey, Stinky and Austen. Up went the garter and down it came right on Elvis's head!! What a sign that must be! Tatortot grinned from ear to ear!
Harry tossed Pika's garter to a group including El Puerco, Frijoles, Lucius, Gizmo and Gizmo, Milkbone, KB, Brodie, Zorro and Jackie's Teddy. Up went the garter and it stuck in the lights. After they got the hotel staff get it down and tossed it again, KB caught it. His chest swelled out with pride as he exclaimed, "I don't know which girl I want to marry, so I'll have to marry them all! But my first dance tonight is reserved
for Snowflake." Snowflake blushed and rushed to his side.
Everypig went back to their seats for the toasts to begin. Many pigs gave their well wishes to both bride and groom. Then BJ's Elvis came up to the microphone, "Alan, Mowgli, Harry, Pika - Thank you for allowing me to share in your joy. May it continue for all eternity. And while we are speaking of eternity and joy, Tators --- WILL YOU MARRY ME???" Tatortot rushed to Elvis and gave him a BIG kiss. "Yes!! Yes!! I would love to be your bride!!" Cheers went up through the group. This was truely a momentus and joyful occasion!
Before anyone else could do anything, Rocket took the mic.
"Congratulations all around. In addition I would like to wish my dearest Cosmo a Happy Birthday." Out came a small birthday cake and everyone started singing Happy Birthday to her.
Next the couple's cut their wedding cakes and everypig dug into dessert. All the pigs started pairing up to dance and party off all the food they'd just consumed. Harry took Pika to the floor and began a waltz. Alan and Mowgli joined them. Followed by KB with Snowflake, Taffy with Pickle, Martin with Sonic, Frijoles with Grendel, Pooh with Harvey, Stinky with Sable, Hekate with Austen, Lilah Pig with Teddy, Reeses with Michael, Europa with Scooter, Tators with Elvis, Indy with Venus, Milkbone with Rawhide, Fluffy with Elvis, Gizmo with Cocoa, Sandra's Taffy with Peepers, and so on until all were dancing. This continued late into the night.
Different pigs and chaparones put on skits and shows until everyone was exhausted. Off to bed they went to have wonderful dreams of love and meeting their soul mate. And although they were all happy and excited, there was a bit of sadness tinging the moment as this was their last night at the hotel and they would have to say farewell tomorrow....
Here is what happened at the wedding:
