Harry & Pika's Wedding - Sunday 2/13/00

Afternoon Activities The group decided to split up for the afternoon into 6 groups. Spas, Costumes, Fighter Plane Rides, Antiquing/Shopping, Lurray Caverns and Horseback riding.

Pika, Madeline, Flower, Daisy, Laalaa, Speckle, Hattie, Helen's Patches, Hekate, Sonic, Mowgli, Tators, Calliope, Cosmo, Reeses, Taffy, Sundae and Pepper all decided to go to the spa to have the full treatment so they would all be ready for the wedding tomorrow. They all had their fur done, nails trimmed and painted and had a soothing massage.

Harry, Bleys, John Henry, El Puerco, Alan, Lucius, Robyn's Gizmo, Both Elvis's, Rocket, Arthur and Harley all went to see the World War II fighter planes and maybe to take a ride.

Forrest, Rowdy, D'artagnan, Whitey, Q, Tac, Chrissie, Wheeker, Blossom, Daisy, Frisky, Sweetie and Charlie Girl joined Gwen, Mo, Peanut, Harmony Piggy, PJ, Beignet, Lil Bit, Peewee, Bandit, Honeybunch and Baby Shreik-a-dee at the costume shop to have their costumes fitted and to pick up the costumes for the rest of the group.

Michael, Nicholas, Harbey, Stinky, Taffy, Teddy, Skittles, Jackie's Teddy, Zorro, Boo, Laurie's Boo, Chester, Daisy, Dash, Tenjin and Kokopelli all decided to go horseback riding.

KB led a group of girls to go shopping and antiquing. He was joined by, Lilah Pig, Popy, Nutmeg, Estelle, Mitzi, Grendel, Cinnamon, Lyra, Lilith, Milbone, and Snowflake (who seemed to be developing a bit of a crush on KB).

All the chaperones and remaining pigs decided to visit Lurray Caverns.Brodie, Sable and Harriet were particularly interested int the ice cream cone shaped stalagmite. Peepers was all eyes and had to be drug out of the caves when their time was up.

All headed back to the hotel to prepare for dinner and to show off their goodies.

Harry and Pika's Rehearsal Dinner There was much ado this evening about who would attend which rehearsal dinner. As it turned out, there ended up being 3 dinners. One for Harry and Pika's wedding party, one for Alan & Mowgli's wedding party and one for guests. Some of the guests and celebrants wandered between dinners, but for the most part, they had 3 separate dinners.

Before dinner, Pika went over everyone's roles in the wedding. John Henry explained the ceremony and confirmed that Harry & Pika's vows were completed. Everyone seemed comfortable in their roles and promised not to eat any of the decorations until the ceremony was over. John Henry led the group in prayer for long and happy lives and beautiful weather for the outdoor ceremony. With that, everyone went to their assigned tables.

Harry and Pika were joined by Martin, Harry's best man, Madeline, Pika's matron of honor, and her husband and groomsman, Fozzie Bear. Flower and Dervish, "Parent's of the Bride", John Henry, the minister, and Sonic, Martin's girlfriend and bridesmaid, completed the head table.

Bleys, the ring bearer, sat at the next table with Laurie's Boo, Lilah Pig, Hekate, the flower girl, and the bridesmaids, Daisy, LaaLaa and Speckle. Austen joined Hekate for a smooch between toasts.

Hattie and Helen's Patches, bridesmaid and junior bridesmaid, sat with Rupert, Sam, El Puerco and Frijoles, groomsmen. Grendel sat next to Frijoles to reassure him that he is the pig for her -- after both their behavior last night.

The final table was complete with Jamon, Junior groomsman, Sashe Bunny, Zoe, Cinnamon, Lyra, Lilith, Europa, Oberon, Yoko, Charlie, Wysi, Palin, Poppy, Nutmeg, Estelle and Mitzi.

After Bleys, Boo, Hekate and Austen settled down from their game of Chase dinner began. They had 2 salad courses, a pellet course and carrot cake for dessert. During dessert Martin began a round of toasts.

"To my dear friend and travelling companion. I wish you years of bountiful hay, plentiful veggies and warm snuggles. And to Miss Pika, no matter how many times Harry steals your veggies, don't give in. Take those veggies back!" Martin proclaimed to a round of applause.

Flower and Dervish gave this toast, "Harry, we are giving our precious 'daughter' to you. Please take good care of her and enjoy and long and happy life together."

Bleys bounded up to the microphone next and asked, "Do I get toast now??" When Martin explained that it's not toast for eating, but wishes for the bride and groom, he said, "It's good living next door to the two of you. Anytime you have extra hay, you can throw it into my cage..." The toasts continued from there as the various well-wishers stopped in to say hello and to get a piece of cake.

Dancing led well into the evening. Europa started a bunny-hop line with the other bunnies, Flower, Dervish, Oberon and Yoko. The Chompers all tried to join in but kept getting left behind when the buns would hop forward, so they started their own popcorn line. Pigtrains and madness ensued bringing the evening to a close. Everyone headed up to their rooms to get their beauty sleep for tomorrows main event.

Or at least we thought everyone headed up to their room...

Alan and Mowgli's Rehearsal Dinner - by Robyn Mowgli and Alan's dinner was not quite as big as Pika and Harry's but every bit just as good. Michelle's Pepper and Lucius (sow of honor and best boar) sat with Mowgli and Alan while Taffy, Sundae, Teddy sat with Tators, Calliope, and Elvis. My Gizmo sat with P.J. and Lu's girlfriend Beignet, joined by Cosmo, Reeses and Rocket. Finally, the flower sow,Angel sat with the ring boars,Mathieu, Martin and Miroslav.

Slightly chilled carrots and tops were served as an appitizer followed by a pellet mash and romain lettuce for dinner. Apples were had for dessert with adjustments being made to whoever needed a change in the menu.

Indy, who is giving Mowgli away, started the toasts by saying, "May you always have plenty of pellets and hay." Lucius then went on by saying, "Nothing but the best for my brother and my soon to be sister-in-law."

Lots of mingling and wellwishes was seen and heard until it was time to turn in....
