ARTICLE VIII
|
| DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS OF THE OFFICERS |
Section 1. THE PRESIDENT:
a. ![]() |
Shall serve as member of the Board of Directors;
|
b. ![]() |
Shall appoint the officers whose offices are appointative in nature;
|
c. ![]() |
Shall preside over the General Assembly and regular or special meetings;
|
d. ![]() |
Shall recommend the formation of ad-hoc committees as the need arises;
|
e. ![]() |
Shall sign official correspondence and transactions of the organization;
|
f. ![]() |
Shall propose and implement resolutions;
|
g. ![]() |
Shall monitor the activities of the KAAKBAY unit organizations through the KAAKBAY Coordinators;
|
h. ![]() |
May enter into legal contracts or agreements for and in behalf of the organization, provided that the organization, through the Executive Committee, has approved of such contract or agreement by a majority vote.
|
Section 2. THE VICE PRESIDENTS:
a. ![]() |
By consensus among themselves, shall choose one of their number to assume the duties and functions of the President in case of the latter's absence, resignation, incapacity or removal from office;
|
b. ![]() |
Shall propose and implement resolutions;
|
The Vice President for Majority Affairs
|
c. ![]() |
Shall conduct assemblies and meetings over the Majority sector of the organization if and when the need arises;
|
d. ![]() |
Shall coordinate with all affiliate organizations which are Majority-oriented;
|
e. ![]() |
Shall coordinate with all Vice Presidents for Majority Affairs in the unit organization level within the city/provincial organization's jurisdiction;
|
f. ![]() |
Shall coordinate with all Vice Presidents for Majority Affairs in the other city/provincial organizations of the federation;
|
g. ![]() |
Shall conduct activities and spearhead initiatives - with consultation from the President and the two other Vice Presidents - regarding the membership and affiliate membership concerns of the Majority sector of the organization;
|
The Vice President for Moro Affairs
|
h. ![]() |
Shall conduct assemblies and meetings over the Moro sector of the organization if and when the need arises;
|
i. ![]() |
Shall coordinate with all affiliate organizations which are Moro-oriented;
|
j. ![]() |
Shall coordinate with all Vice Presidents for Moro Affairs in the unit organization level within the city/provincial organization's jurisdiction;
|
k. ![]() |
Shall coordinate with all Vice Presidents for Moro Affairs in the other city/provincial organizations of the federation;
|
l. ![]() |
Shall conduct activities and spearhead initiatives - with consultation from the President and the two other Vice Presidents - regarding the membership and affiliate membership concerns of the Moro sector of the organization;

The Vice President for Lumad Affairs
|
m. ![]() |
Shall conduct assemblies and meetings over the Lumad sector of the organization if and when the need arises;
|
n. ![]() |
Shall coordinate with all affiliate organizations which are Lumad-oriented;
|
o. ![]() |
Shall coordinate with all Vice Presidents for Lumad Affairs in the unit organization level within the city/provincial organization's jurisdiction;
|
p. ![]() |
Shall coordinate with all Vice Presidents for Lumad Affairs in the other city/provincial organizations of the federation;
|
q. ![]() |
Shall conduct activities and spearhead initiatives - with consultation from the President and the two other Vice Presidents - regarding the membership and affiliate membership concerns of the Lumad sector of the organization;
|
Section 3. THE SECRETARY-GENERAL:
a. ![]() |
Shall serve as the official spokesperson of the city/provincial organization;
|
b. ![]() |
Shall assist the President in the administrative concerns of the organization;
|
c. ![]() |
Shall preside over the General Assembly and regular or special meetings;
|
d. ![]() |
Shall follow on transactions inherent to the position;
|
e. ![]() |
Shall sign official correspondence and transactions of the organization at the instruction of the President;
|
f. ![]() |
Shall propose and implement resolutions;
|
g. ![]() |
Shall coordinate with all Secretaries-General in the unit organization level within the city/provincial organization's jurisdiction in relation to their duties and responsibilities;
|
h. ![]() |
Shall coordinate with all Secretaries-General in the other city/provincial organizations of the federation in relation to their duties and responsibilities;
|
Section 4. THE ASSISTANT SECRETARIES-GENERAL:
a. ![]() |
By consensus between themselves, shall choose one of their number to assume the duties and functions of the Secretary-General in case of the latter's absence, resignation, incapacity or removal from office;
|
b. ![]() |
Shall assist the Secretary-General in dispensing his/her duties and responsibilities;
|
c. ![]() |
Shall follow on transactions related to his/her position as the Secretary-General may deem necessary;
|
d. ![]() |
Shall keep the records and minutes-of-the-meeting of the organization;
|
e. ![]() |
Shall receive and record all communication and correspondence for and of the organization;
|
Section 5. THE TREASURER:
a. ![]() |
Shall be charged with the safekeeping of the monies of the organization;
|
b. ![]() |
Shall make the financial reports of the organization;
|
c. ![]() |
Shall receive all contributions, donations, intended for the organization's use;
|
d. ![]() |
Shall follow on transactions inherent to the position;
|
e. ![]() |
Shall be co-signatory in any and all bank transactions, deposits and withdrawals, as the case may be;
|
f. ![]() |
Shall coordinate with all Treasurers in the unit organization level within the city/provincial organization's jurisdiction in relation to their duties and responsibilities;
|
g. ![]() |
Shall coordinate with all Treasurers in the other city/provincial organizations of the federation in relation to their duties and responsibilities;
|
Section 5. THE ASSISTANT TREASURERS:

By consensus between themselves, shall choose one of their number to assume the duties and functions of the Treasurer in case of the latter's absence, resignation, incapacity or removal from office;

b. ![]() |
Shall assist the Treasurer in dispensing his/her duties and responsibilities;
|
c. ![]() |
Shall follow on transactions related to his/her position as the Treasurer may deem necessary; |
