Welcome to kaakbay.tk, the official website of the Kaakbay Tri-People Youth Dialogue (Kaakbay - TPYD).

Kaakbay - TPYD is a non-stock, non-profit, non-government, and non-aligned cross-sectoral youth organization duly recognized by the National Youth Commission (NYC).

Kaakbay-TPYD endeavors to advance peaceful coexistence, mutual tolerance and understanding between and among the Tri-People and educate them about the diversity and common historical and ethnic roots of the different Malayo-Polynesian or Austronesian tribes present in Mindanao (i.e. Cebuano, Boholano, Chavacano, Kapampangan, Ilonggo, Tagalog, Ilocano, Maranao, Maguindanaon, Tausug, Iranun, Sangir, Badjao, Samal, Kolibugan, B'laan, Teduray, T'boli, Subanen, Manobo, Batak, etc.) through constructive peace-building in the form of awareness campaigns such as trainings and other capability-building programs.

It is composed of student leaders (college and high school), young achievers and young professionals coming from the TRI-PEOPLE (Settlers, Moro, and Lumad sectors) of Mindanao, Philippines who have called themselves "Young Peace-builders".

Its officers and members have been trained with a specialized skill in promoting a CULTURE OF PEACE (COP) in the community through a capability training of the same name. It has also recently acquired the resources to conduct the Adolescent Health and Youth Development Program (AHYDP) recommended by the Commission on Population (POPCOM) utilizing the SHAPE Training Package, which covers Adolescent Reproductive Health, Responsible Parenthood, Youth Empowerment and Sustainable Development, and Practical Life Skills.

Kaakbay-TPYD is recognized by the National Youth Commission by virtue of NRP Resolution No. 011, Series of 2003.

Please feel free to browse through this site. We at Kaakbay-TPYD can assure you that it will be worth your while.

What's New

Kaakbay-TPYD has just recently fielded ten delegates to the 5th National Youth Summit on Human Rights at Brentwood Apartelle, Baguio City last October 24-28. It was most memorable for the team, as the challenges that they had encountered had revealed many capable leaders who could take over the reigns of steering the organization after the incumbent officers shall have stepped down. Kaakbay will be in good hands.
