In cooperation with the Sangguniang Kabataan Federation of General Santos and the City Mayor's Office - Youth Affairs and Development Office, Kaakbay Tri-People Youth Dialogue shall contribute to the lobbying efforts to convince Honorable Mayor Pedro "Jun" B. Acharon" and the Sangguniang Panlungsod to concur and strongly support the successful conduct of this event as main sponsoring agency. Two hundred (200) youth leaders from the different Sangguniang Kabataan barangay councils, high school Student Body Organizations (SBO's), College Supreme Student Councils and Student Government (SSC/SG), and NGO youth organizations operating and existing within the four corners of this city shall be gathered in one event which shall serve as a venue for discussion on issues and interests of the Majority Settler (Christian-Catholic), Moro (Muslim) and Indigenous (Christian-Protestant and Pagan/Animists) youths with regards to peace and development in the area, particularly in the present unstable peace situation hounding the island of Mindanao. Focus of the discussions will be on the role of the youth in their common aspirations for active participation towards peaceful co-existence and on eventual development efforts.
