Chapter Three
As soon as Josh opened his apartment door, he stood like he forgot what he was looking for. Josh just didn't know where to sit, because he didn't want to drench his furniture in blood. Josh soon made up his mind and went into the bathroom to his immediate right. He unbuckled his pants and sat on the ceramic seat. Frustrated, Josh dropped his head in his large hands and long fingers, only to weep.
After Josh changed into his sweats, he hung out at home the rest of the day, discouraged. He flipped channels on the television mindlessly. He decided to chat with Piper for a while. It wasn't their first meet since the night at Suite 16. They talked on the phone often, and the two even went on a couple of dates.
"Oh, you poor thing, Josh, baby, let me come over," Piper said.
Josh wiped his dry, irritated eye, yawned and mumbled to say, "okay."
Piper optimistically put the phone down on its white ceramic, gold bordered, old fashioned receiver, and bounced off her fur sheets.
Piper soon arrived at room 221 with a perky face. As soon as Josh opened the door, her expression dropped. She touched his cheek and whispered and gasped. She moved into the room with Josh as he closed the door. She delicately led his hand to the bed. They sat together, rubbing each others' hands for only a few seconds.
"Do you need me to clean you up?" Piper said worriedly. Josh made a face and cocked his eyebrow like he was playfully thinking. Piper giggled and moved away from Josh and toward the bathroom. As she bent down to rummage through the cabinet, Josh sat, staring blankly at different things in the room. Piper returned with a First Aid kit, Q tips, and band aids. Josh moved back on the bed to make room for Piper. She swung her legs around him. Josh tried to keep a straight face. He wondered how Piper could be so serious. She squirted a clear lotion onto the Q tip in her left hand. Josh closed his eyes as Piper dabbed the gunk over Josh's scar on his forehead. The cold sting of it interrupted Josh's fantasizing, and he took a deep breath in.
"Open your eyes," Piper whispered.
Josh opened his eyes. Piper's lips were close to his. Her hands were on the bed, beside Josh's hands. They suspended her body. Her knees were upon the bed. Piper's derierre was straight up in the air and Josh saw it. Her tight jeans wrapped around it. Her feet hung off the edge of the bed. Josh wished her hair was down.
"That it?" Piper asked. Josh continued to wonder why she was so sexy.
He felt like asking her, but he lifted up his pant leg instead. His leg was
completely shredded. It looked as though he was lured into a log shredder. His
leg was thin and weak. It seemed liable to crumple on sight. Piper's lips were
pursed. She put her hand to her mouth and whispered, "Oh dear." Piper
paced to the closet to retrieve a face cloth. She applied rubbing alcohol to the
Egyptian cloth. She supported his size twelve foot with her right hand, and the
facecloth was draped over her left hand. Josh lounged back with his leg bent in
Piper's hand. "This is going to sting," she said. Josh nodded, as if
he didn't already know. He didn't care if he was treated like a boy for th
e
moment. He enjoyed every minute of the stinging. The dried blood soon vanished.
Piper asked if his other leg was like this, too, and he rolled up his left pant
leg. It wasn't as bad as his right, but Piper tended to it anyway. Josh watched
her intently. He lifted up the sleeves to his arm next. He decided it was easier
to take off his shirt, so he took off his shirt to reveal more gapes and
wounds. Piper held both her smile and tears in. She pressed the facecloth to a
wound on his chest as she leaned in to kiss him. She didn't pull away soon, and
neither did Josh. He felt bombastic now. His whole body stung, and his legs were
moist. He began to gyrate. Piper supported his back now, so he moved his hand
onto the back of her shirt. He touched the bottom seam of the shirt with his
thumb. His fingers were spread open and he touched the edge of her jeans with
his pinky. He slid his hand up under her shirt. Piper did not arrest the
situation.
