Inspiration: Vekia is almost a female Gandalf in the sense shes magical, really old, very wise, and has white hair, but the similarities pretty much end there. OK so there are a LOT of similarities, but hey give me some credit, mentors are all the same in these stories. Vekia is like Jublis in the sense shes one of the beautiful people, especially for a being whos lived for millennia. Vekia is a sort of wishful thinking mentor; shes almost the perfect teacher in every way.

History:
Vekia was born in Emho at the beginning of the reign of the Ti-Gurahin household, the first royal family of humanity. She became one of the first mages when she learned of magic from the Elven tradesmen who came into Emho for the originality of the human craftwork. After she became a mage (or at least as advanced as Elves would let outsiders get) she went back to the city, only to discover that there was a movement to leave the human settlement. A revolution had occurred and been re-deposed by the Ti-Gurahins during her studies, and many people were attempting to flee such political struggle forever.
Vekia was then approached by her fellow human mages and asked to join them in forming a council to govern all human magic-users, and set guidelines for the instruction of apprentices. Vekia, and not for the last time, refused to join the council. This mages council accepted her decision; content knowing that there would be many more of equal use to take her place. Soon she had left Emho and was experimenting on her own with magic and spirit energy. Soon she had developed some new abilities that surpassed that of the mages councils powers combined. After learning of this they tried to get her to join them again, and still she refused. She did however agree to teach them some of her techniques.
Then Vekia took on the first of her two apprentices that she would teach in her lifetime. His name was Becuran, a strange child really; his eyes seemed to be half asleep all the time. Eventually his skills equaled that of hers, and he then joined the Mages Council. The Council eagerly welcomed him in, desiring to learn his secret powers. But even this knowledge was not enough.
Elements in the Council wanted to get rid of those who were capable of destroying them with ease: The Elves. The Council however realized that they wouldnt be able to do this without help, there were too many variables, most of them in the favor of the Elves. The Council bided their time.
Vekia learned of the fanatics from Becuran, whom she had developed a close relationship with. Vekia vowed to never let the Council cause a catastrophe in the name of progress, so she went into hiding for almost 100 years, training. In this time she met a young woman named Aesa, who joined her for some time. Vekia was amazed to learn of the spirit techniques the woman had developed on her own. It started with harnessing the power of her anger, and it grew to the point where she was capable of fighting better than any warrior in existence.
Vekia trained for this time, but when she heard of the existence of the Aer-Tial, she revealed herself once more. A general by the name of Minatdor had arisen. Under advice from the council, the Human-supremacist launched a huge war against the other races, Elves and Dwarves, known as the Great Bleed. When the decade long conflict was over, the genocide was totally complete. Not a Dwarf nor Elf was to be seen on the Yeterian Plain. Luckily Minatdors generals overthrew him, seeing that the War of Safety had gone too far. Unbeknownst to them, Vekia had secretly helped the Dwarves flee to north of the mountains, where they would establish a new existence.
For many years, a cold relationship existed between Vekia and the Council. They knew of her treachery and were poised to take care of her at the slightest hint of deviance. The only two things keeping them from punishing her immediately were Becuran, who had worked his way to the top of the Council, and their collective fear of Vekias powers. Vekia was the only one, to date, that had been able to develop magic techniques on her own, and use them effectively at that.
During this small cold-war, Vekia put her talents to many uses that the Council could not. She reversed natural disasters, saved lives from certain death, and of course was a highly respected elder. Of course no one knew her from sight, most seeking her sought an old woman, but when one looked upon her, her radiant beauty was that of a young woman, something unexpected from tales told by grandparents.
Then, Vekia moved to a town named Shimmer Peak after 500 years of hostile feelings with the Mage community. The Council tried to convince her to join them yet again, opting to keep their enemies closer, but Vekia declined again.
What she didnt reveal was that she sensed a strong aura of magic emanating from the village. When she reached it, unlike in the past, where auras of this type were found around a rock, or a tree, this aura came from a person. A living, breathing human being! So taken aback was she that she set out to teach the person to harness that energy, to use it to the fullest of its potential. She had felt a similar force almost 20 years before while still in Emho, but that had dissipated. And so it was that Vekia, the Master Sorceress, took a young boy named Kitt under her wing.
