Wird! Shan-O in the house with a little somethin', somethin' about his first day at work... & the wonder that is Daico.
And by the way, screw his comment on I Can See For Miles. He's just pissed because Nirvana never made a song as good as Pinball Wizard.

Don't even get me started on how bad of a song I Can See For Miles is. They're not even fucking American. Use fucking kilometers.

Last night i had a really strange dream. In fact, it's still bugging me now, i think, just because i don't know what the hell it means. Not that every dream really needs to mean something, but i think this one actually does, so i'm pissed. Anyway, the dream...
In the dream i'm in my apartment late at night/early in the morning with the sliding glass door leading to the porch open. I hear Day-Z, my trusty dog, start to growl, as she is want to do quite often. I don't think anything of it, cos she's always growling at the ducks & such, & i tell her to be quiet. Then, about five minutes later, a burglar smashes through the screen door & holds me at gunpoint & says, "You should have listened to your dumb-ass dog." Details at this point are a bit fuzzy, but basically what happens is that he's trying to rob the apartment & somehow i stop him & call the police. Now, the really strange part is, if this had actually happened, i would have shit my pants & started crying. But the reason i wasn't scared in the dream was because the burglar made this extremely stupid comment & totally threw me off what was actually happening. And the only reason i really remembered that point in the dream is cos after the police left, i was interviewed by the local news & i told them the reason i wasn't scared.
So, yeah, there ya go. Any suggestions, comments, numbers of therapists, send here.

So, Bob Hope turns 100 today. Well, the only thing i have to say about that is - 100 is TOO FUCKING OLD.

Last week, my wife & i went to Cedar Point (for those of you outside the Midwest, an amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio). It was a good time, even though it costs an arm & a leg to get in now. But a good time, none the less. However, there is some crazy shit going on at the Point. Now, before i say this, just a small disclaimer: i am not attacking anyone. It's just that, and i doubt this is much of an exaggeration, there was probably one either handicapped or retarded person for every 5 non-handis walking around. As i said, i'm not attacking here, they have just as much right to be there as i do, but what exactly is the point of paying $45 to get a quadriplegic into an amusement park, even though they can't ride any of the rides? I can only hope these people get a discount, or something. Strange.

Uh oh. Looks like it's been about a month since... well, "Fuck you, too/Give me my money back/Give me my money back, you bitch." What can i say, that list took a lot out of me. Anyway, the wife & i had to take good ol' Eli R. Duke in to get his balls chopped off. Poor guy. But i have to say this, he sure is taking it pretty well. If someone took me to the doctor & i came out with no balls, i'd be pissed. But that's just me.

After years of toil & sweat, it's finally here...
I've finally finished my list of The 100 Greatest Rock & Roll Artists Ever. You can read the list here. It's been a long time coming, but i think it's damn good.
And in conjunction with that news, a small announcement from THE Experience's music department:
Music Lovers: THE Experience needs YOU. We're attempting to create a 100 Greatest Artists Of Rock & Roll list and we need your help. Read all about it here.

A couple of sporting observations for April (for those of you not interested in sports, ignore this post):
The NBA Playoffs:
They have been pretty exciting thus far, hopefully it keeps up through to the finals.
Note to Shaquille O'Neal & any other athlete who refers to themselves in the third person - SHUT THE FUCK UP! Cory doesn't like it when players do that. It pisses Cory off. Cory asks that you stop doing it.
Motown Sports:
It's been a sad month for Detroit sports teams. The prize jewel of Detroit sports, the reigning Stanley Cup champs & top-seeded Red Wings got bounced in the first round of the playoffs and it now looks as though the top-seeded Pistons are about to suffer the same fate, they trail Orlando 3-1.
And on top of that whole mess, the trainwreck that is the Detroit Tigers. At one point they had 2 wins when every other team in the league had at least 7. Absolutely ridiculous. I feel bad for Alan Trammell, cos he's a good guy & would probably be a good manager with a decent team. The Tigers honestly have a good chance of finishing with the worst record ever. As my father once said, "They're a minor league team charging major league prices." One bright spot for the Tigers - if they would manage to squeeze out 45 to 50 wins, Matt Anderson could save 40 games, cos they're definitely not going to blow too many teams out.

Well, this past week has been finals week for me & it shows in my latest edition of Ponders. I realize it's been a long-ass time since the last time i updated my Random Thoughts, but i really haven't been having many random thoughts of late. I've been very calculating, maybe even conniving. But i digress.
And i'm not the only one off my ass, either. Shane chimes in with, what i believe is, the very first mention of the perineum in the history of this website. Good for you, Shan-o!

Last week, the wife and i went to see Anger Management with Jack Nicholson and Adam Sandler. The overwhelming thought in my head as I was leaving the theater was... it should have been funnier. Jack is typical obnoxious, over-the-top Jack - which is usually great. Sandler, per usual, plays a soft-spoken "regular guy" to which a bunch of bad and funny shit happens - which usually works. For some reason, though, the movie just isn't that funny, notwithstanding great performances by John Turturro and Luis Guzman in smaller roles. Don't get me wrong, it's not an overly bad movie, even despite the "gee, I didn't know that was going to happen ten minutes into the movie" ending... it just isn't that great.

Yesterday morning i heard the news that Nina Simone had died on Monday. It's too bad that she shunned this country in her later years, a lot of people missed out on possibly being introduced to some great music. I guess she had her reasons, though. The first time i ever heard Simone was on a Pete Townshend record, of all things. I had been a fan ever since. She'll be sorely missed.

Just wanted to say "what up" & "peace" and give a Happy Birthday to my dog, Day-Z. She's two. Oh, to be a teenager again.

Yesterday, as i was farting around on the internet, i checked in on The Weblog Review to see what was shaking & i noticed that THE Experience was ranked 3rd in the "Readers Top 5" list. Then i noticed that we had something like 600 people rate our site. Something's fishy in Denmark. And even though Denmark's smell problem is none of our business, i still knew something wrong had happened. Checking the number of hits on our site, i figure it would take about 8 and a half years for 600 people to know enough about THE Experience to rate it, let alone rate it highly. So, basically, what i'm saying is, whoever keeps giving me 5's..... keep it up.
And also, THE Experience is now listed on BlogShares. At the moment i don't think it is listed for sale, but hopefully soon you'll be able to buy some shares & join in the fun... or something like that.

THE Experience has a job opening
Doing what we can to help the struggling economy, THE Experience has decided to create a new job. Actually it's a freelance position. And, actually, it doesn't pay. But anyway. We're looking for a New England correspondent. Preferably someone in or around Boston. Maybe a grad student at, say, an Ivy League school. If you fit, or know anyone who does, e-mail THE Experience at [email protected].

As i was reluctantly placing Avril Lavigne's Let Go into my music collection due to the fact that my wife's CDs have now mingled with my CDs (kind of like in Dune... "Your water shall mingle with our water.") it got me thinking about the worst albums i own. So, selecting from the full albums that i had a hand in obtaining (& thus not including Erin's Shakira CD, et. al.), i came up with these two lists. Don't ask me how i got these albums, i'm trying to forget.
The 5 Worst Albums I Own
1} A Christmas Album - Barbara Streisand
2} Best Of Bass Creations - X-ES & The Bass Posse
3} Impact Is Imminent - Exodus
4} Memorabilia - The Singles - Soft Cell/Marc Almond
5} White Nights - SOUNDTRACK
The 5 Gayest Albums I Own
1} A Christmas Album - Barbara Streisand
2} I'll Always Love You - Anne Murray
3} Silent Night - The 100 Voices Of Christmas
4} A Song For You, Close To You & Carpenters - Carpenters
5} The Rose - Bette Midler

I was looking back at some old posts the other day & i noticed that one thing that pisses me off quite a bit, or at least enough for me to post about it, is the goddamn weather here in the upper armpit of the continental 48. But shit man, i mean, 5 days ago it was 70 & then this morning there was 6 inches of snow on the ground. If i believed in god, i'd blame him. Then i'd say something like, "You better take care of me lord, cos if you don't, you're gonna have me on your hands."

With all due respect to Sly & The Family Stone, is the really any funkier groove out there than Stevie Wonder's Superstition?
