New Terrains

As mentioned, the primary source of inspiration for the development of the Landscope project was Buckminster Fuller's Geoscope - a visionary project that was to act as a control centre for the earth's processes. Early experiments using parametric modelling tools sought new variations on the Geoscope. In this case, the form of the earth would hypothetically be transformed by given values of global resource flows. This system brought into focus the qualities and capabilities of various interlocking geometries, as were explored by in Fuller's designs. This new project evolves these geometries, such as to form new generative topographies, thereby providing the basis for the development of the hybrid fields.
