Liquid Phenomena

Experimentation with water became central to the development of the design. Here, we can see some of the subtle and complex properties of an air bubble in water, as well as the patterns that emerge from cymatic experiments, using sound waves to vibrate water. This imagery demonstrates two of the primary areas of exploration taken further by digital design, being fluid, multi-curvilinear form and topography, as well as complex, evolving patterns, as found in textiles and tiling.
