It is in my opinion that too much money is spent on tertiary prevention whereas too little money is spent on primary prevention in healthcare. So many times I had felt like the work that doctors do is like a builder plastering up the cracks and other defects in a dilapidated house. Had the foundations of the house been laid well and maintenance carried out regularly, I'm sure the house will last much longer and be in a much prettier state! But this is all naive and theoretical talk. The way things are have been encapsulated in concrete and to bring about change is simply beyond my capabilities.
