Weds 23rd Feb 2005 - Back from the grave

After being missing in action for almost 3 months, I have finally settled down enough and squeeze out some time to make a long overdue entry in this blog of mine. It's good to be writing again. Looking back at all this time that I have been away from this website, it almost seemed like I have hardly done anything at all! My holidays came and went, we moved house. Christmas, the two new years, starting work as an intern, oops, gotta call it by the proper local name - house officer. I guess the most significant change of all would have to be the latter. But I will tell you all about it some other time, when I have a bit more time than now. Today is a good day, and so was yesterday. I managed to have the afternoon off and I happily spent it online trying to retrieve my website files from the yahoo server (lost all my data through a most unfortunate accidental hard disk reformat. yet another long story). I have archived all the entries of the last few months of 2004 as it would probably be most appropriate to start off my re-emergence into the blogging world with a fresh page. The original plan was for a major website revision but given my time constraints and more importantly my lack of motivation to learn more advanced HTML skills, this is the next best thing.

Bloody hell. Just when I'm comfortably seated in front of my PC (newly assembled and includes multiple free headache-inducing problems to boot), I have to suffer a mental block. Completely amnesiac about the events in the past few months which I am hoping to recount now. Ok, let's try. I reached Singapore in December. Spent the 1st month or so moving house, which I am sad to say is still incomplete at this moment, another fine demonstration of our family's amazing capacity to drag things on forever. This moving house business, despite all the headache it brings, should be a good thing actually. Why? Because right now I actually have my own room! Gasp! Horror! Is that possible? I mean, yeah sure I have my own room for the past 6 years while in Melbourne, but this is Singapore that we're talking about leh! No longer will I have to sleep together in one room with my other 4 family members! Yeah! Hurray for privacy! Hurray for air-conditioned comfort! Hurray for being able to do naughty things without other people knowing (I mean staying up late to play games, not what you thought you pervert)! Not bad, not bad at all. I should be a very happy man indeed. It's good to have my own space. Making a too big a deal over my room eh? Maybe, but its 1148pm and I'm laden with a heavy sleep debt and another day of pain starts in 7 hours time so I think the least I'm entitled to is to rattle off nonsense can? Plus it's my blog anyway so I write whatever comes to my mind. Or whatever my fingers like to type, since my brain is hardly ever functional thesedays. Just being a trained drone to carry out orders from the higher powers.

Anyway. So. Oh, I know what to write. Since I got home, I've also busted close to 200 bucks on toys. Actually I mean I've spent a most justified amount of money on re-acquiring a piece, no make it 2 pieces of my childhood. I've bought the macross transformable veritech fighter! Two of it actually. It is so cool man. Think I spent the first couple of days just playing around with it transforming it from veritech fighter mode to gerwalk mode to battroid mode and vice versa. There is just no end to the joy that this simple process can bring. Ahhhh.... When people find out that I bought these toys/figurines, they think that oh I must have bought it in terms of collecting and displaying it in a dust-proof cabinet with spot lights showing off. Sorry, nothing can be further from the truth. They are TOYS dammit. And toys are meant to be played! Doh! Who the hell cares about collector items and all that crap. I just wanna get my paws on it and glide it around through the air while making jet engine noises and engage in role/fantasy play! Call me childish or whatever but this is what I truly enjoy doing.

Now my Optimus Prime can call in air support when he needs it. They make a great pair. Or triplet, if I put 2 of my veritech fighter together with Prime. Good old Optimus Prime.. which reminds me... I haven't played with him since I got back from Melbourne!

Ok, its 12midnight now and I'm definitely going bonkers (as evident by my increasingly weird topics). I really hope to be able to write more, especially of my housemanship experiences thus far, and also to restart the comic, or maybe draw a new one. But creativity is dependent on a well-rested mind and that is a state that eludes me pretty much nowadays.
