Radio
Became the youngest student manager of the campus radio station at Oklahoma Christian College. Following this, worked in a number of capacities at many radio stations - from DJ to Programming Manager.

Redesigned and rebuilt the campus radio station as a Sophomore. Introduced a broad range of programming to the campus by creating remote sports coverage for home and away games. Many other campus activities were covered such as live snowball fights and lunchroom reporting. While this sounds like Animal House, the technologies for remote live reporting were not widely available in the late 1970's. Also encouraged and sponsored broadcasting for the blind, placing special-purpose programming in prime time.

Purchased, installed and operated Oklahoma Christian's first multi-track recording studio. Designed and installed Oklahoma Christian's first full FM radio station studios and subsequently acted as chief engineer after graduation. After graduation, career migrated primarily to Television.

Television
While still a student, began working in television. Was a part of a number of leading-edge initiatives.

Was one of Oklahoma City's first satellite broadcast downlink engineers and was the first manager of broadcasting uplink services from the Oklahoma City area as a part of the VEU entertainment network. This was about the same time Ted Turner founded CNN.

Helped engineer remote, live microwave broadcast reporting. While this is a common sight today, live reporting from the scene of a news event was very unusual in it's day. Also functioned as Operations Engineer in one of Oklahoma City's first digital video production studios.

Held a First Class Radio/Television Engineer's license and was a member of the Society of Broadcast Engineers.
