Pasadena is well-known for its great restaurants.  There are lots of different places for all types of palates.  Here are some of our personal favorites.

La Luna Negra [Review]
44. West Green Street.  Pasadena, CA 91101. Phone: 626.844.4331.
We love this place - great atmosphere, great food, and great sangria.  It's a Spanish restaurant (No,
not Mexican.  Spanish).  They have great paella and other Spanish dishes.  Our advice: skip the entrees.  Go with a group of friends and order a bunch of tapas (appetizers) and a few pitchers of sangria.  On Friday and Saturday nights beginning around 8pm is when the fun really starts with a group of flamenco dancers and a Spanish guitar player.  Tapas average $6-8 per items.  Open on weekends from 11am to Midnight.

Marston's [Review]
151 East Walnut Street.  Pasadena, CA 91101. Phone: 626.796.2459.
This is one of our favorite local restaurants.  They're only open for breakfast and lunch and are not open on Sundays.  Food is California-American.  Average bill including drink is about $12-15 per person.

Market City Caffe [Review]
33 South Fair Oaks Avenue.  Pasadena, CA 91101.  Phone: 626.568.0203.
The site of our first date.  Try to sit in the courtyard towards the back near the pond of koi fish.  They serve Italian food and great fresh breadsticks.  There's also a pretty cool martini bar in the very back.  Open for lunch and dinner.  Average dinner price is $20 per person, including a drink.

Xiomara/Oye! [Review]
69 North Raymond Avenue.  Pasadena, CA 91101.  Phone: 626.795.2520.
We celebrated our four year anniversary here.  It's actually two eateries: one Nuevo Latino (in the front) and one Asian-Cuban (in the back).  You can order from either restaurant in either area.  They serve a great
mojito (Cuban cocktail). Dinner averages $39, including a drink.

There are a bunch of other places as well -
you can check out http://www.citycent.com/CCC/Pasadena/dining.htm to get a complete list.  Other favorites of ours include Burger Continental (bad food, fun atmosphere), Pie & Burger (guess what they serve), Barney's (Irish Pub in Old Town), and, of course, In and Out (either in east Pasadena or Alhambra).
