Tank Technologies

M-1A1 Abrams TankThe tank is an armored attack vehicle, which is the basic importance of a ground war. It uses a pair of caterpillar tracks to support and move heavy weight over rough terrain. The tank's main armaments are guns, cannons and missiles.

The most advanced tank is the U.S. M-1A1 Abrams. It has a 120mm cannon with a range of 4000 m. The Abrams tank also has thermal imaging and laser-guide fire controls to fire accurately while moving.

The technological aspect of a tank is its armor. There is "laminated" armor, which is reactive. It destroys explosives before it hits the interior. It worked for awhile, until the anti-armor warhead was developed. Tank armor is now made out of uranium.
