TRED 701: Enhancing Teaching Through Technology

Critique of Listservs

Description of the Project:

Each class member joins two educational listservs and updates other class members throughout the semester. Topics of interest include how many messages one gets, whether the messages are useful or relevant, and whether or not one would recommend the listserv to another person.

My Critique of Listservs...

...includes MATHSED-L, a discussion group dealing with mathematics in education, and AMTEC, a listserv dealing with the use of media and technology in education. Click here to see it…

Applicable ISTE Standards:

Standard I: Technology Operations and Concepts: Participation in a listserv requires extensive use of e-mail, which demonstrates introductory knowledge, skills, and understanding of technology.

Standard V: Productivity and Professional Practice: Participation in useful listservs provides a source of information for improving educational practices.

Standard VI: Social, Ethical, and Human Issues: Participation in useful listservs provides a source of information for understanding social, ethical, and human issues related to technology.
