My Photography

Baker Street Tube Stop

I have never had fancy cameras or great equipment but someone once told me that the best camera you have is the one you take with you. So yes all my best photos may be "shot with iPhone" but I think they are good in their own ways.

I took this shot while waiting for the tube on my way to stay at my cousin's flat for my first ever visit to London! I knew I had to snap it even while juggling all my luggage because of the great angular objects and timeless feel of it all. Traveling on the underground can be an ugly claustrophobic time, but seeing places like this makes it all worth it.

Hidden Swiss Boat Dock

I came upon this gem while visiting the gorgeous city of Bern, Switzerland. It was my last day in the city and I felt like I had seen a good portion of it so I decided to take a Funicular down to the riverside and walk down the cobbled waterside streets before I had to catch my train.

Almost to the end of my walk I saw the mouth of a tunnel appear in the buildings to my right which were along the edge of the river. I decided to check it out and that's how I found this little hidden dock. It had some sort of historical significance but I couldn't figure that out because the plaques on the wall were written in German. I snapped this photo and made my way to the train.

Der Himmel Über Berlin

Early winter sunsets in Berlin are a beautiful part of living there. So much so that "Der Himmel Über Berlin", which translates to "The Sky Over Berlin" is a common thing people say there. I was lucky enough to get off of my internship early one day and head up to the top floor to snap this photo.

My internship was at a school that inhabited the bottom floor of an old industrial Siemens factory building. This building was old enough to have a working paternoster, which is basically just the elevator of your nightmares. I love the contrast of this gorgeous sunset over an industrial park. The colors especially are what make this photo special to me.

Slightly Illegal Castle View

If you're a fan of Disney you may know something about this castle. This is the famous Neuschwanstien castle in Bavaria, Germany. I visited the castle in the late fall which supplied some nice foliage for this shot. This is the most photographed side of the castle and is very common to see.

Now you're probably wondering why I titled this image as slightly illegal and rightly so. The day I visited Neuschwanstien, the bridge, which is where this side of the castle is normally photographed from, was closed. Normally I would just turn around and say "oh well" but while I was catching my breath, I saw a couple people shimmy through the barbed wire fence and climb up a hill just to the side of the bridge. I followed suit and that's why this photo is unique and slightly illegal.
