Organization

If you are planning to organize a meeting or event in Korea, you may
- organize it yourself,
- hire a meeting planner or PCO(professional convention organizer) or
- ask the hotel business center or convention center to organize it for you.
If the size of the event is large, it is better to contract a meeting/event planning company or a PCO. (refer to User Info for interpretation) Venues and interpreters should be booked well in advance, especially for meetings held in Seoul between March ~ June, and September ~ November.

Conference Venue

The success of a conference depends greatly on the substance and organizer but can also be affected by the venue. Many events will suffer from low attendance due to bad choice of venue. There is also a tendency for audiences in different industries to prefer one venue over another. Also, avoid holding the event near local holidays or long weekends and check with the interpreters on the usability of the venue's interpretation facility.

Interpretation

Refer to User Info for guidelines in deciding on the mode of interpretation and hiring interpreters. Most qualified interpreters or agencies will readily submit quotes but will often refuse to take part in competitive bids. This is because, lower contract price does not mean compromising profit margins but compromising the grade of the service providers, i.e. the quality of the interpretation.

Multiple Languages

If interpretation is required in more than two languages, the number of booths is increased by one for every additional working language. The interpreters will take the output from the pivot booth and interpret into their A-languages. Whatever language is spoken on the floor, interpretation in all working languages will be provided at all times on the allocated channels. The consultant interpreter or agency will contact and recruit foreign interpreters when non-Korean interpreters such as Spanish-English or English-Chinese interpreters are required.
