HOW TO MAKE YOUR VERY OWN "SHOCKING LETTER" PRACTICAL JOKE DEVICE
This little item has been around many, many years. Possibly since the invention of the envelope. Long time, huh? You bet. But it's still just as effective as ever in surprising your friends or giving old men heart attacks.
Also known as the old "rattlesnakes eggs" ploy, this easily made device is cheaply constructed, simple to operate and can be used over and over again. Another one of it's advantages is that it can be mailed to your friends far away, then deliver it's delightful moment of performance upon opening.
You need only 2 paper clips, a rubber band, a 3" x 5" index card, a sheet of paper, and an envelope. Take one of the paper clips and unbend it into a straight piece. Now rebend it so that it looks like the illustration shown here: [picture of frame]
Next, loop each end of the rubber band around each of the hooks of this frame. If the rubber band is to big, double it over. Either way, the rubber band should be tight enough to stay on the frame.
