African School Fund

Gifts to this category provide a pool of funds for JAF to allocate to the school or schools with which it is currently working. Your donation allows us to individually tailor support based on the needs we encounter. In most cases, needs are assessed and supplies are made while we are on the ground with a group of travelers.

$50,000 to build a School $10,000 for a Staff House

$5,000 to build a Classroom $35 for a Desk $25/child for Textbooks

$ Any amount for general support of Schools

Student Scholarship

Your gift will provide a full scholarship for a deserving young person to travel to Africa with JAF and work with a local school. Applicants are selected by Jim based on criteria set by the board.

$5,000 Student Scholarship

Teacher/Educator Scholarship

Your gift will provide a partial scholarship for a deserving teacher or educator to experience Africa and work with a local school. Applicants are selected by Jim based on criteria set by the board.

$4,000 Educator Scholarship

General Scholarship Fund

Gifts to this category will allow JAF the flexibility to designate funds to either a student or a teacher based on current needs, number of applications and scheduling.

Endowment Fund

Building an endowment will first and foremost enable the Board of JAF to provide a stable and consistent income for Jim both now and when he retires from the work of the foundation. In addition, a gift to the endowment takes off the pressure of having to raise the annual operating budget. We appreciate your consideration of support to this category.
