| I really should try to get these things up right after they happen, otherwise, the details are forgotten. Sunday: 2 on 2 Basketball with me, Anne, Brittany, and Dave. Guys vs. Girls, not too fair. Jared and Brittany: 2 wins. Horse: Down to the guys, both with HORS, and neither could make a shot for about 10 minutes. Jared playing Ping Pong, yeah, that'll be a competetive game. Over to the apartment at 8. The Singles watched The Last Boy Scout, another good Bruce Willis movie. Then we gots to talking about, you guessed it, relationships. And while this was going on, Benson managed to get hit in the crotch with flying pillows 2 or 3 times. Gotta love the apartment. Monday: A fire drill that wasn't at midnight? What the hell is going on? Art and Jared to Dunkin Donuts. Conversation: The 2 normal subjects. This would be the last night that I actually got a decent amount of sleep for the week. Tuesday: Another Firecrakers game. This time, it was against the ex-Winthrop Women's basketball team. Kia Bell, one of the starting guards last year, was on this team. It was ridiculous. Totally unfair. They played pretty good for the first half, then they got flattened in the second half when the current women's basketball team came into the SAC. Will: "Well they seem to have lost the fire, so I guess now they're just the 'Crackers'." After walking Anne back to the Nance, and seeing Dave and Brittany continue to walk around campus, I met up with Benson in the lobby of Richardson. And he had a pizza from Papa John's. Yeah, you see where this is going. So I chilled with Benson and we watched Desperado until about 1. Project Sleep Deprivation Comenses. Wednesday: The game versus High Point was delayed due to traffic. Well, I did hear about a 12 mile back up due to the lane shift. But hey, I got my free T-Shirt. Alex Spotts gets the start? What is going on here? AR and I left at halftime. Another Firecrackers game, this time against the Tri-Sigs. Sorority girls playing basketball, you get the picture. It was a slaughter. So, we walk back to Nance, and Art and Kat are in Java City. We sit, we talk, I attempt to do homework. Everyone leaves except Anne, Kat, and I. Kat says something deserving of the incredulous look, though I don't remember what. We both get invited to Charleston, an offer I'll have to think about. Kat wants to sleep, so we all leave. This is about 11. Basketball practice at 12. Although it was just me and Dave. Tim finally showed up eventually. Very productive, a practice with 3 guys. 3-pointer knock-out with 3 guys, now there is a workout. 1:30 practice ends, and I go to the lobby to finish my MATH 355 homework and try the take-home part of the 542 test I took earlier. I finally gave up at 5 am and went to bed. Thursday: Wake time: 10:30. Tried to finish my homework and test before class at 12:30, unsuccessful. Tried to get some sleep between classes from 1:45 to 5:00. Unsuccessful, since Kenneth called and asked me to play basketball. Dinner at 4:15, a relaying of my fears to get Kenneth's perspective on the matter. Class at 5. An intense build up of nervousness until about 9 when I went over to the SAC. Our game started at about 10:20. It sucked, the refs sucked, and we played like a team that had never practiced together imagine that. I was so frustrated by the end of the game that I did not want to talk to anyone. I got my clothes and left without saying a word. Probably for the best. I continued to walk around campus for half an hour, nothing like walking around in sub-freezing temperatures wearing shorts to cool you off. At 11:30, I called Kenneth, and we went to Denny's. Typical conversations. Then we went back to the apartment, where there were 2 Xboxes and 8 guys playing Halo. I sat and watched for forever. The party broke up at about 3. I hung around for a while. Bed time: 4 am. Friday: Wake Time: 8 am. 2 Classes. Half of the 356 class was not there. Oh, and that test I should have bombed on Wednesday: 94. Frisbee practice from 2 to 5. It took forever. And it was a great work out. Of course, only having like 4 hours of sleep did not help. And I love playing in games with only like 5 on 5 and short fields, it accentuates my abilities, namely, making long cuts into the endzone. I did have one great catch where I reached over Walter's head, as he was facing me and the frisbee was flying behind him towards me, and I tip the frisbee and caught it. Then there was that one that Chandler floated out there and I ran practically the width of the field to catch up to, now that was a feel good catch right there. Then I went to the baseball game. A foul ball hit the seat, on a tip/line drive kind of deal, not a pop up, about five feet from where we were sitting. Kind of scary. Anyways, the game was great. We were leading 1-0 after 5 when I got there. Then Maryland scored 5 in the top of the sixth. Which was answered by 4 in the bottom of the sixth. Then Maryland hit a solo homer in the top of the eigth to take a one run lead. To the bottom of the ninth. We get two outs. Our third batter grounds to the first baseman, and the game looks to be over. The first baseman flips the ball to the pitcher who was coming over, and he bobbles and drops the ball, safe at first. The next batter, Matt Matkovich, the power hitter. Second pitch of the at-bat, BOOM, high fly ball to right field, going, going, gone, and still going. Boo yah, walk off, 2 run home run to win the game, what a rush. Ponds, Kenneth, Big Mike, and I go to El Cancun after the game, my first time going, and it was excellent. I love Mexican food. Then we go to the apartment and watch Mystery Men, staring Claire Forlani, Ben Stiller, William H. Macy, Claire Forlani, Hank Azaria, Jeneane Garofalo, Pee Wee Herman, did I mention Claire Forlani? I do love Mystery Men, it is a great movie. Ponds had to leave after the movie, but the rest of us stayed, watched some Whose Line and some Friday Night Standup, then we started watching Bachelor Party starring Tom Hanks. At this point, everyone started falling asleep, so as to avoid sleeping on the couch, I left at 12:30. I dropped by to see how AR was doing, then I went and talked to Benson and prodded him along to go keep Aaron company in Wofford. Bed Time: 1:30. |
