Spring Semester 2004
Saturday: Wake time: 1:30. Fitting weather for Valentine's Day: Cold, Gray, and Rainy. So, we're supposed to meet up at the apartment at 5. I get there, and no one else is there so it's just me and Kenneth. Fowler comes in and asks what we are doing. I tell him, "Oh we're just watching TV and making out." Response: "Don't ever say that again." AR and Big Mike show up eventually, but they get a call from Corrie saying how they should come over to Nick and Tom's for some hot dogs and stuff. They leave around six, saying they'll only stay for a bit and ordered to steal as much food as possible. Ponds shows up a little after they leave. We watch A Night at the Roxbury and then I make the executive decision to watch We Were Soldiers. Jason and Chad show up a little later, and Kenneth starts making the food. And it was good. I go and get Benson, and after the Linkin Park comment that almost made him walk to the apartment, we returned. By this time the movie was over and we were watching the end of Total Recall, while Jason, Chad, and Ponds played cards. "Give these people aeir!" Yes, that guy who can't speak English, he's now the governor of California. Big Mike and AR come back at about 10:30, but Aaron has to leave since he's got to work. So he spend no time with his club brothers. He is now on probation. At about midnight, we start watching Bad Boys II. Ponds ditches us soon after, but Brittany and Dave show up shortly after he leaves. Whoa, we finally got a girl to show up. And then there was the sopapillas incident. Ok picture fried tortillas covered in powdered sugar, and guys watching a action-comedy flick. I was first, and remember that I was wearing all black, tie and everything. Then Jason did the same thing, he laughed, as I did, and powdered sugar went everywhere. Mike was the third and final casualty, and he got the worst of it since he was in a laying down-sitting position. Mike also ordered a pizza for us, which I ate 1/4 of. The movie ended at about 2, at which point Dave and Brittany leave, and Kenneth, Mike, Benson, and I watch the recruit. Good movie, predicted the ending. Benson and I leave at 4:30 and stop by Wofford to see what AR is up to. Bed time: 5:00. Definately one of the better Valentine's Days I've ever had. Always fun to chill wit my boyz.
Sunday: Basketball practice. Erik gets in position for us to push him in the window so we can get into Peabody after hours and has his hat come off and fall into the classroom. Except the building is unlocked, so we have to shove him in there for nothing really.
Monday: Women versus BSU. Great game. We were ahead by 10 at the half, but BSU started the 2nd half on a 13-0 run. But we battled back, and with about 30 seconds left, Tameika Brooks drove in, made the layup, and nailed the charity shot to put us up by one. BSU came down, took a wide open shot with 5 seconds left, and missed. Off to intramurals. The Tri-Sigs didn't show up, so the girls didn't play. We started playing at about 12:15, game time 11. We had 9 guys, they had 4. We were losing for a good 5 minutes before taking the lead. We were up 10 with 3:35 left in the game. They drove, we fouled, and the basket counted. Times 4. So we lost, horribly and stupidly. Kenneth and I go to Taco Bell and then to the apartment. We watched Three Kings. I love that movie. I love the filmwork, the colors, how the gun fight was filmed. Sweetness. And that movie also gives you another perspective on Desert Storm and the aftermath thereof. It makes you think. Bed Time: 3:45
Tuesday: $8 on laundry. This is ridiculous. So, I'm supposed to chapparone for Benson at 11 while he and Anna are watching Family Guy. From 10:30 til then, I check in on: The CCC guys, playing video games of course. I watch Pierre pull a memory card out of the GameCube, while it was still on. "Ouch. Jimmy, your games were just erased." I leave before the brawl. I drop by Mani's room, and finally make it back up to the 6th floor. After a great cartoon, I head over to Nance to chill with AR. I scarily tap on the window so they'll let me in. I try to summarize Othello for Kat since she can't seem to understand the plot. Ponds drops by, and Benson later on. We play Spider solitaire for a while, with no keyboard since Ponds' laptop was whack. Then we play some Gin, AR and I, and later Skat. Then we get into some card tricks. We leave around 2:30. Bed Time: 2:45
Wednesday: Men versus Liberty. Worst game I've seen in a while. Just awful. I like how a certain fan went from riding the ref hard to kissing his ass in about a 5 second period. Intramurals: The girls lost, basically because the other team got pissed off at the refs and started playing harder and more street ball-like. We only had 5 guys for our game, but we fought valiantly. We were down by 6 late in the game, Dave made his 3 FTs, and we were down 3 with 18 seconds left. We lost, but it was the first game that I wasn't pissed off about afterwards. We played well. Erik, Tim, and Chris ran the fast break well, Dave drove to the basket well, and I got lots of rebounds. I missed a lot of shots though, it sucked. But we played good. I got a well appreciated "Good Game" from Brian after the game in the elevator. I was hungry though, so I went looking for people. I found Art in the lobby studying. We chatted briefly. Seeing that one not pan out, I went to Benson's room, and basically drug him out of bed to go to Waffle House with me. I needed some companionship, I hate eating alone. Bed Time: 2:30.
Thursday: Wake Time: 10:30. Temperature: 64 F. Sweetness. Ponds, AR, and I went to the lake after our 12:30s to enjoy the almost 70 degree weather and sunshine. We played Cricknis. Finally, I was able to teach some other people. I won, 1-0-0 after 2 innings. Then, I was supposed to play baseball with Dave, but he wasn't out at Peabody, so I just threw the disc around with Mani, Charlie, Nick, and later Orte. Near the end, we started throwing with our off-hands. It was pretty bad. We decided we should warm up that way though, just to give the other team some confidence. Wow, Jared made it to dinner after class, that's a first for the semester.
