Venus

The Planet Of Love And Beauty

Venus is almost the same size as Earth. It is also the nearest planet to ours. Scientists once believed that the surface of Venus was similar to that of Earth, but now they know it is very different.

Venus has an atmosphere to trap the Sun's heat. During the day, it can reach a temperature of 900F(480C). This temperature is high enough to melt hard metals in seconds. On Venus it rains Sulphuric acid.
