CLASSIC DOOM STUFF
DOOM is still a relevant source of fun and creativity today, perhaps moreso than over 20 years ago when it first came out. Although the SNAPMAP feature of DOOM's 2016 reboot proved to be a lot of fun and work for myself, I've noticed that most attention still goes out to the classic doom series. If you want my favorite level/gfx mod, try the recent "Ancient Aliens" conversion. It's based off of the goofy show but the setup is probably one of the best non-gameplay changing mods I think DOOM has ever had in a long time.

I've had my very primitive releases a very long time ago and had a recent idea to take a 2002 story made for an old mod and run a community project to get some levels made from members of the Doomworld forums. Hell, I'd even pay them for it! I just want to see the story and soundtrack put to work and possibly even enjoyed by many.

This game has been an inspiration both soundtrackwise and probably for the other team members the same for their trade for "Project Warlock 2018". If you are looking to make DOOM mods slightly less difficult without the use of cheats, and guaranteed more fun, try "DOOM Legacy" (the source port online) with an extra keyboard for splitscreen cooperative with a friend having a different key setup for both players. I prefer WAD and HJKL for basic functions and directional inputs. There are several other wonderful source ports for this game, such as "GZDOOM," "jDoom/Doomsday," "Risen3D," and one of the most popular full on gameplay modifications for GZDoom or any source port is called "Brutal DOOM" if you are in for a more modern gameplay experience with a tad more gore than the original. View olden format. Complete rework in the works someday!

MY MEGASITE PROJECT
I've enlisted an artist to do some basic sketches and am working to redo the full cast of classic doom 2 on animated buttons for the sidebar of a huge project I'm looking to do when it rains off and on in my office. If that wasn't a run-on sentence I don't know what is, but I also am not that hellbent in changing it. Anyways, this upcoming megasite is just a sideshow to Doomworld that makes things more easier for the newcomer to classic doom, whether from several years of a break seeking nastalgia, or a newcomer to the game who is young or old and highly interested in getting shit done. It will have all of the megawads I can find good and bad with possible ratings from other sites at the time of writing them "as of..." as well as comparisons of the modern source ports and popular gameplay modifications. I will also have tutorials for editors and basically anything else possible, such as how some put doom on 800 different devices on youtube. There will be all of the editing resources I can conjure up from other resource sites, as well as instructions on installing the extended spritesets of the enemies given away on sites like Realm667. Also all of those old and new funny partial conversions like Barney, Beavis and Butt-head, Southpark, the Simpsons, Seinfield and others will find there way somewhere here. Basically anything that will catch a newcomer or nastalgia seeker's eye in the legacy of old school DOOM will have it's place here.

DOOM2.NET HOSTED WEBSITE
I recently got space on doom2.net free to display some goods. The site needs a massive makeover but that's not the point here. My ideas over the years with some small starts are "MAKE IT GO AWAY" aka "PROJECT M.I.G.A." with a little "ABADDON". Abaddon is basically a real life alternate dimension where wolf3d, doom, hexen, nor quake never existed, and instead this series started first person shooters in made-up history. They all will have a cheaply done to more graphically enhanced visually and through gameplay change up over the pretend years in the same fashion as the id tech engines. "OTHERWORLDLY" aka "LOKUST SUN" is an old plot I wish to see made into a doom 2 mod, since that was its original outcome planned in 2002. One last idea is "VINTAGE 95", a selection scene of hundreds of levels in 8-level sets made to function like mid 90's quality levels without all the source port mumbo jumbo. My idea was to take those original formats and make rather extremely fun takes on them also using source port scripting technology to add features to them as well, all while having a large series of 90's levels made in both old school days and modern times for that nastalgic feel. Lots of the "Startan2" and "Sp_Hot1" textures for these!
