WEDNESDAY, 23 November 2005 Weasley Tongue-Twister: Bumbling babbling band of baboons Fifth. And last for now. Not that I'm complaining. I've just seen Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire hours ago with Malkin, Ginny, Ginny's muggle friend, and newbie Aids for the fifth time in two weeks. And Barty's voice is still as weird as ever. Still, this one tops the Wall of the Weird items: ![]() ~*~*~*~*~*~ I managed to Now I'll knock 'em dead and try to bag the Best in Costume award. I did it once, I believe I can do it again. Wahehehe :P ~*~*~*~*~*~ If I acted now, I wonder what people would say. Should I even worry about that? Just can't forget the picture of your smile. I should be resting now because it's already 12:42 AM.
HP Cosplay Fever Happenings for the past few days: Friday Decorated the office. I was selected to be a part of the decorating committee in our office. We put up a Christmas tree on a rotating device and various decors all over the 21st floor Production Area. Thank goodness others are tasked to do the 24th floor office and the Executive Area. Arrived home at past 9 PM. Saturday HP costuming event at the Shang, Day 1. We set up a command post for all PHP volunteers at Starbucks near the Shang Cineplex. We were given access to two function rooms inside the Admin office for us to leave our personal belongings behind. We toured in groups all over the Shangri-la mall for the whole day. We especially made repeat trips by the Cineplex Lobby. We were really an eye-catcher with our costumes. We used the free Shang Cineplex gift certificates for Goblet of Fire that night on separate screenings. As agreed in the previous weekend, I made reservations for five seats at the 7:45 pm screening for me, Chiqui, Gabe, Nina, and Ron. Others also joined and are seated with us including Ruth and Pristine. The movie was over at 10:30 pm. It was the fourth time I saw GoF. Ruth was picked up by her dad, while the others went out for dinner at the Megastrip. As for me, I went home straight because I was so tired. And sleepy too. ![]() Sunday HP costuming event at the Shang, Day 2. Christening of Ziggy. Lexy's second birthday party. Ginny, Malffy, Malkin, and I went to witness as godparents, the Christening of Sig and Abbey's second child, Ziggy at 11:30 am at the Our Lady of Pentecost Parish in Varsity Hills Village. Ziggy is so cute, we couldn't tell whose parent he resembles the most. At lunch time, we headed to Shakey's Katipunan for the reception and Lexy's birthday party. Triple T (Thom the Troll) met us there. Us guys participated in one of the games, and we lost. After our eat-and-run performance, we took a cab to Shangri-la minus Malffy. We again roamed all over the mall to promote the latest Harry Potter movie. The day was not as lively as Saturday, but everything turned out fine. There I met more PHP newbies. Speaking of newbies, PHP is once again graced with the presence of a celebrity who's a newbie - Athena! Watch her in her upcoming shows and album launch. ![]() Monday Auror Frances' HP lecture at SGV Bldg. 1. I met with Malkin and the Auror at Jollibee in Philfirst Building before entering the SGV premises. We were led upstairs in one of the function rooms. Chiqui who works nearby, came to hear the lecture. No lecture by the magnificent auror is ever boring, especially if it's about the HP universe. I also did some talking, discussing a brief history of PHP, while Malkin talked about PHP's activities. All four of us, after having our free dinner, went to stay at the McDo in Bankmer to meet up with Ginny. Chiqui went home after some minutes to catch the shuttle ride to home, while the rest of us stayed and talked about upcoming PHP activities. ![]() Pictures can be found here: My Photobucket ~*~*~*~*~*~ About that thing, I'm still stumped. What to do, what to do? *sighs* I am dreaming at 3:07 AM. FRIDAY, 18 November 2005I've just seen Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire yesterday for the third time at Greenbelt 3 with Chiqui, Nina, and Hector. Thanks to Ginny for letting us use her Sureseats account weeks ago. Ron was with us before we entered the cinema but he wasn't able to watch the movie because there are no vacant seats left, and that he had to go to an important meeting. He joined us after the movie at Starbucks Greenbelt 1. We all shared some laughs, and I got to tell shomething about my shtowies in PHP. We left for home at 12:30 AM :o At work, I'm slowly getting my knowledge in Cobol back. It was no easy feat to learn Cobol 400 for four months, then J2SE for the next month. And now with all the hype on an upcoming project, I went back to Cobol training. Still, I'm having problems which programming path I'm going to take in the long run =( ~*~*~*~*~*~ I haven't solved my other problem. I don't even know if I'm running out of time. Maybe I'll just do nothing and let it all happen... Like I said, I'm happy the way things are. But I know I just can't sit around until it's too late to act. Then I would mope for not doing anything at all. I'm a Gryffindor. I must be brave. I closed my eyes and thought deeply at 5:49 AM WEDNESDAY, 16 November 2005More Than A Week's Worth The past week was a roller coaster ride of boredom, more problems, and fun. The whole week at the office was totally lifeless. The results of our SL-275 evaluation hasn't been released by Sun Microsystems yet. All week I just sat and stared at my workstation... reading Deception Point and Digital Fortress e-books. Dan Brown is magnificent. Monday night was great. I watched another movie advanced screening courtesy of Leah. I saw Flight Plan with AJ, Leah, and some of her McDo buddies. All week long I had been looking forward to Friday. Friday night was the greatest. I watched the advanced screening of Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire at SM Megamall with a number of my co-PHPers. Thanks to that generous benefactor who provided the tickets! We wore our costumes throughout the movie. As we exited the cinema, I was interviewed by the staff of Q-TV Channel 11 for their program Candies. I'll be on TV with the rest of PHP this coming Saturday the 19th at 4:00 pm. Last Saturday, I attended the PHP meet-up at the Shang. We played the latest HP Board Game - The Triwizard Tournament. We also met a couple of newbies. Come Sunday, I attended another activity of my former college organization, IIEE-MIT. I met some familiar faces who were my very own officers way back when I was the Chief Executive. And for this week... Monday. I was faced with a difficult choice which would determine my career path. I again joined the Ansi Cobol training of Batch 7, because there is an upcoming pre-deployment examination at MTI in Ayala, Makati at the end of November. Now my mind is having a hard time learning two programming languages - J2SE and Cobol at the same time. Which path to take? Tuesday. I just can't get enough of GoF. I watched again another advanced screening of Harry Potter and The Goblet of Fire at Glorietta 4, thanks to Leah. I saw the movie with Leah, Gary, Meann, and Chiqui. We weren't really expecting that we would be watching GoF with Chiqui. I just informed Chiqui earlier in the day that I'll be watching GoF for the second time, and I asked her if she could drop by at the Glorietta 4 cinema lobby before heading home since her office is just nearby. She went and met all four of us at the queue to the cinema. Just then, I took something out of my bag to give to Meann, when suddenly an idea came to me. And then with the miracle of all miracles, with the wits of a Ravenclaw, the bravery of a Gryffindor, and the cunning of a Slytherin (sorry, I can't find any Hufflepuff traits :P ), we were able to lead Chiqui inside the cinema to watch GoF with us, even though she doesn't have any ticket for that night's screening. I won't spill the details here, so just ask me when you see me in person :P Wednesday. Today. I find it odd that for the first time ever, I am not in front of any queue at the opening of SM cinemas on the first day of a Harry Potter movie screening. Tomorrow, I'll watch GoF again, with Chiqui, Nina, and Hector. This time, I'll be paying for my ticket :P ~*~*~*~*~*~ I am faced with a problem. I don't know what to do. But I know that if I am to make a decision, I have to decide very soon, or else I suffer another breakdown by not living as to what my mind and my heart thinks and feels, respectively. To act or not to act. Deja vu all over again. But all in all, I'm very happy with just the way things are lately. The stars are shining bright at 11:05 PM SATURDAY, 05 November 2005Sailing at Mercury Yesterday at Gabe's place, I went for a movie marathon with Gabe, Chiqui, Oneal, Rej, and Ruth. We watched Lost Season 1, Episodes 1 to 5. Then we watched Red Eye, as Ruth drooled at the sight of Cillian Murphy :P A half hour before Red Eye ended, more people came - Miao, Nina, and Ron. Miao brought some DVD's. And he suggested that we watch them. Sailor Moon. What the?! Sailor Moon Live Action. Oh. My. God. Get this.. Believe it or not... I actually enjoyed watching it. We've managed to watch 12 out of 49 episodes until 3 AM. Five cute teenage girls in sexy costumes. Fighting for good in the names of the Moon, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, and Venus. The cutest of them all is Ami-chan (Sailor Mercury, played by Hama Chisaki). Rei-chan (Sailor Mars, played by Kitagawa Keiko) is exceptionally pretty too. (I can't believe I'm saying this in my blog. Darn you, Miao! :P )
Gabe and I agreed that in the next Anime Convention or something like it, I'll be cosplaying Tuxedo Mask. This is not a joke. LOL! ~*~*~*~*~*~ This afternoon, Leah celebrated her birthday at McDonald's Glorietta. Some PHPers came to party with her. There were lots of games, and the "Luscious" team won some prizes. I also won something at the raffle. For three consecutive weekends, I won something :D Belated happy birthday, Leah! I felt alive at 11:48 PM |
