APRIL RECAP

THE PROGNOSTICATOR KNOWS ALL
EAST
Death. Taxes. The futility of the Collusion offense. These three things are certain about all else. Early season pundits hand the division to the Giants; however, the Dodgers still have the offensive firepower to make this race interesting. The newly relocated Beach City Dukes look to make a splash in their first season, but too much of the honus will be placed on Earl Averill this season.
WINNER:
The talented arms of the Giants hold off the Dodger firepower.
SPOILER:
The Collusion won the division with less offense in '29. If the Lefties and King Carl each win 20, they've got a chance at the WC.
CENTRAL
The only thing anyone agrees on in the central is that the Collusion will not be able to score. The Expos have the pitching. The Athletics have assembled a formidable offense, the Red Sox always have the two best hitters in baseball and the Tigers are the feel good underdog story.
WINNER:
We drew straws. The Expos picked the long straw. We'll go with Washington to return to the playoffs.
SPOILER:
The Prognosticator likes a good underdog story. The Tigers have assembled their best team in EBL history and have an outside chance at three 20-game winners in the rotation if the offense overperforms by 10%. That number is completely arbitrary and there to make us look like more educated statheads after that embarrassing straw-drawing incident.
WEST
This is where the fun happens in 1931. Each team has a smattering of top-class talent and one quirk. The re-christened Highlanders have the team speed to run wild. The Crown Royals make up for a one-Ott offensive show with a five-man rotation that could win 15-games each (if they had the offense). The Pisces have guys named Howdy, Footsie, Pie, Dazzy and Firpo. The Bruisers can whack-a-mole with the best, but after Clark and Rhem, they'll have a hard time keeping runners off the basepaths.
WINNER:
We'll take the Pisces coming off their shocking World Series victory. But this one won't be easy.
SPOILER:
Anybody could be the spoiler. We expect the West to come down to the wire, but if we had to pick, the Highlanders' speed and team defense could be the wrench in the system.
