The New York Highlander send #7 pick overall (Roy Parmalee) and Ed Morgan to St. Louis for Mel Harder
St. Louis wanted back into the first round fun and they received a solid, but unspectacular selection at #7. New York gains a slugging defensive liability on his last legs and a promising young pitcher in Harder. This seems like a winner for New York who takes a big leap forward in 1931 after a disappointing campaign. St. Louis scouting saw promise in the draft and cut weight for the future.
