I've been fascinated by these puzzles since holding a Rubik's Cube in my hands for the first time, but didn't become a serious collector until 1991 when I rediscovered them after buying and solving the newly released Square-1.  When I learned that there was no magic involved and that I could develop my own solutions, I was really hooked. 

   My ongoing project is a study of the 4x4x4 cube and its many modification possibilities.  I'm speaking of the lazy man's custom puzzle here - a cube and some masking tape and crayons. The solutions posted here are mainly relating to this project, although I hope to add more solutions as time permits.  My solution philosophy emphasizes complete solution.  If some puzzle pieces are identical or ambiguous in orientation, I will number them or add orientation marks.  I don't really care about speed, however.
