Lonely and afraid
empty faces i see
march down busy ways
towards the bitterness
of our common fate
so sad and foolish
do they linger on
clinging blindly to their own
hoping into life they'll continue on
fearing death so cold and warm
so swiftly do we all
into the sea tramp on
ignoring the depth to which we fly
believing solely upon the lies
that our foolish hearts upon do rely
so soon we come
and so swiftly we go
from where to where
none of us do actually know
only our fears blind our souls
so as life we see before us go
and death with its emptiness to behold
we tremble and cry and pray
that the sky will respond to save
as slowly we slip away
