A soft rain falling heavily
___________________________________

slowly the darkened clouds grow
softly the winds blow
yet soon their might will be known
a dry land waits afraid
and in its sorrow its moans are heard.

the sky breaks forth
casting out its woe and shame
and those below cannot give praise
down the dry land a river flows
its display brings heartache to the soul
again the land dries
the clouds gone
winds quiet
silence resides.

in the emptiness of a fathomless depth
the waves of sound are lost
their sorrow though remains
and as a warm river
flows through an empty land
the dreams of the dead arise
but upon seeing the sky
return to their slumber.

the warm river has ran cold
biting the lonely soul
and again a soft rain falls
pounding heavily upon a dry land
which no love can ever behold.
