Lucretia Agnes Sons LeBlanc

Lucretia Agnes LeBlanc was born Lucretia Agnes Sons on August 7 1907 near the town of Town, Louisiana. She was the third child of twelve children born to Julian Nerville Sons and Marie Cadis. Her siblings were: Jullian Justin Sons, Chester Joseph Sons, Mary Evelina Sons, Wilton Joseph Sons, Arthur (Jake) Sons, Florence Sons, Aggie Sons, Maggie Moran Sons, Elwood Ernest Sons, Richard Crawford Sons, and Inez Betty Sons.

Lucretia Agnes Sons Married Royal Joseph LeBlanc on February 15 1928, and together, they had 5 daughters, Leli Mae LeBlanc, Betty Jean LeBlanc, Sadie Mae LeBlanc, Annie Laura LeBlanc, and Royaline Mary LeBlanc.

Agnes as she was called by most, was the daughter of a trapper Julian Nerville Sons, and her mother was Marie Cadis Sons. She had very little formal education, but was a wise woman. I remember going to visit her at her house in Bessemay, Texas, and marveling at her plants. And enjoying her cooking. I didn't learn until years later exactly WHAT it was I was eating, but it tasted good at the time. I also remember going on vacation trips with my parents, and Grandma LeBlanc, and her taking "clippings" from every flower, shrub and tree along the way. (And bringing them home, and them actually growing) I remember too, a trip to the mountians, where she picked up many small (5 pound) stones from river beds, and her talking my dad into loading up a huge (75 to 100 pound) boulder which was covered in Mica. But it sure looked good in the yard back home.
