| Showtime Productions was set up in February 1988. The company is led by Jeremy Monteiro, an acclaimed composer, arranger, producer and jazz musician, who was listed in the 2000 edition of 'Who's Who of the World'. He has performed and recorded with the likes of Lee Ritenour, Herbie Mann, and played at the prestigious Montreux Jazz Festival. His compositions have also won awards in New York and London. (refer to Jeremy Monteiro) It started out as a talent management agency and production house for club events as well as corporate and private functions. Today, its talent roster continues to grow to include artistes from USA, South East Asia and Singapore. Currently Showtime Productions has direct access to a large number of artistes worldwide, including Ernie Watts (sax), Vanessa Rubin (vocals), James Moody (sax/horns), John Pizzarelli (guitar/vocals), Terumasa Hino (trumpet), Freddy Cole (vocals), Spyro Gyra, Tuck & Patti,, Count Basie Orchestra, Woody Herman Orchestra and more. This is in association with their managers/exclusive agents, with whom we have close contact. J J Jazz, currently known as Jazznote, Showtime's record label has launched albums for homegrown talents like Jeremy Monteiro, Claressa Monteiro, Rani Singam, Anne Weerapass, Shawn Kelley, as well as Monteiro Young & Holt "Live" in Montreux. Showtime has also produced albums for companies such as, Polygram, WEA, Golden String International, First Impression Music and Sangaji Music. Its recent production for Sangaji Music, "The Girl From Ipanema", featuring Jeremy Monteiro Trio with special guest star, Eden Atwood, stayed on the HMV charts in Singapore and Hong Kong for more than three months. Showtime Productions is quickly establishing itself as an international entertainment events consultant and music production house, specializing in the staging of musical events and festivals. With its technical and creative sections working together, Showtime Productions is able to adopt a holistic approach to the planning and production of such events. We also provide artistic direction for club operators and marketers/businesses to help them in their marketing and branding campaigns. Major events undertaken by Showtime Productions includes Heineken Jazz Under the Stars and the Heineken Green Rooms Sessions. One of our biggest productions was the inaugural Singapore International Jazz Festival, which was held at Suntec City. Over 200 musicians perform about 52 shows over the three-day festival, which received rave reviews in the international press. |
