Jeremy Monteiro has been conferred Singapore's highest honor in the Arts, The Cultural Medallion. On Oct 8 2002, Jeremy received the award from Mr David Lim, Acting Minister for Information, Communications and the Arts, at a ceremony held at the Istana.
The Cultural Medallion is given to those who have attained artistic excellence in their fields.
Jeremy describes the award as "tremendous encouragement" to himself and other jazz musicians. "It points out to them that it is possible to keep on doing what they are doing and reach the heights in Singapore". |
