thinking of picking a winner or two to award a small prize. |

The grand prep for Jarred and Suhi's Wedding Shower at Battleforce One. Jarred, Tim and Suhi turned approximately 3 pounds of ground beef, sauted red onions and secret ingredients into juicy bride & groom, traditional round and heart burgers. We also made yummy veggie kebabs and sausage kebabs. |

Jarred and Suhi's BBQ Wedding Shower at the Golden Gate Park. The menu included Burgers, Hot Dogs, Kielbasas, chicken sausages, Veggie kebabs, Tofu Dogs, Veggie burgers, Veggie "chicken" patties, potato chips, olives, brownies, beer, and white wine sangria. Suhi's friends, Susan and Angela, also came up with amazingly fun games -- Famous Couple Ice Breaker, "nearly-wed game", Dress the Bride, and Apply Make up on the Bride. Everybody had lots of fun. Thank you everybody for being a part of our wedding adventure! |

Lunch with Blakely and Father of the Groom at Caywood Middle School. Attended Blakely's middle school graduation. |
| May 25 |
Suhi and Jarred's mom went shopping in Jackson. Found a beautiful pair of shoes for mom and picked up Jack's tux. Met with Mr. George Reed, a good family friend and the wedding officiant, for pre-marital counselling. |
| May 26 |
Got a marriage license! Met with Peggy, the wedding coordinator. Moms, groom, bride, and the wedding planner went out to the Natchez Trace park and found the perfect wedding ceremony location overlooking the Cub Lake. Suhi had her first dipped cone at Dairy Queen. Jarred and Suhi visited Jarred's grandparents and found many beautiful materials to decorate the reception hall. |
| May 27 |
Jarred got a haircut for the wedding. Visited Jarred's dad's house, saw a newborn cow, had yummy brownies and went over lots of beautiful decorative items for the wedding. Cheri (Stepmom of the groom) and her mother will be providing many gorgeous plants for the wedding. Jarred's dad's tux came. Suhi's wedding gown came but it was in a different color as previously described. |
| May 28 |
Maid of Honor finally received her dress. Jarred's mom took Suhi to a wedding gown store to get her dress altered. She also bought Suhi a beautiful matching veil. Suhi and Jarred's mom went to Appletree to talk about flowers for rehearsal dinner and wedding. Jarred and Suhi went to Blakely's 7th/8th grade aloha theme dance. Caywood Middle School gave Bride and Groom a very generous wedding gift. |
| May 29 |
BBQ at (Jarred's uncle) William's house. Many of the McAdams clan came out to enjoy the sun, grilled kebabs, swimming, and lots of yummy treats. Nancy baked a cake for Suhi and Jarred, and everyone showered the bride and groom with gifts and congratulations. Two horses almost escaped from the ranch but William quickly responded. Apparently one was a female horse and the other one was a stud. The youngest McAdams, Avery, was also there to play with the family. Severe Thunderstorm Warning. |
| June 1 |
Suhi had a haircut in Nashville. Wedding wine and champagne have been purchased -- Roden Riesling, McKinney Chardonnay, Beringer White Zinfandel, and Cristalino Champagne. (We also bought viognier but ended up drinking it at our honeymoon.) Jarred and Suhi spent a romantic day at the Opryland Hotel and then a fun evening at Opry Mills before picking up Suhi's mom at the airport. |
| June 2 |
Met with Wedding Planner, caterer and DJ to go over details. Jarred and Suhi prepared do-it-yourself sushi for dinner. Everyone had a blast making hand rolls and maki. Suhi's mom demonstrated her skills in sushi rolling. Cheri brought yummy cheese cake for dessert. Another stormy night. Despite the scary weather, we headed out to the lodge to start cleaning but a) it was locked; and b) the road was blocked by a huge broken tree trunk. |
| June 3 |
Wedding gown picked up. Looks good! Trial hair appointment for Suhi at 1:00pm. Megan did a wonderful job with Suhi's updo. Kim Todd threw a Bridal Shower at First Bank Community Room. Everyone enjoyed a yummy cake by nancy, punch, cheese and crackers, fruits and vegetables. Started a massive cleaning process at the lodge. Shower leftover food and Dominos to the rescue for the hungry folks with mops and brooms. |
| June 4 |
Met with photographer, Bruce Meisterman, during lunch at Asiana Garden, a Korean restaurant in Memphis. Trip to Graceland. A little coffee break at a local diner. Bestman, Tim, arrived in Memphis. Jarred, Suhi, Mrs. Lee and Tim went to eat ribs at the most famous bbq restaurant in Memphis, Rendevouz, took a walk on Beale Street and walked down to the Mississippi river. A huge drama with Susan, Maid of Honor, who informed us she could no longer make it to the rehearsal. |
| June 5 |
Crazy decoration for the rehearsal dinner. Thanks to Caywood Prom and William and Jean's BBQ, we had beautiful materials to transform Mrs. Kizer's house into a Luau Paradise. Rehearsal at Cub Lake at 5:30. Henry and Gina also couldn't make it in time. Mrs. Reed stood in for Henry, Honor Attendant, Emily stood in for Susan, Maid of Honor and an imaginary person in Gina's place. The sound system seemed to work fine. Rehearsal Dinner at Mrs. Kizer's (Mother of the Groom). Amazing bbq ribs and chicken, baked beans, 2 kinds of slaw, rolls, Granny's famous ambrosia salad, banana pudding, Cheri's sumptuous brownies and fruit tea were served. Henry and Gina made it to the rehearsal dinner. Julie Christensen's ipod provided the perfect music for the perfect occasion. Jarred and Julie jammed with Julie's pink guitar and pretty mandolin. Swimming after the dinner sure was fun. During Julie and Jarred's recording session, Susan finally arrived. |
| June 6 |
Clean Clean Clean! Decoration Frenzy! Mom and Jack, Daddy and Cheri, Katie, Jarred and Suhi, Mrs. Lee, Julie, Tim, Henry, Susan and Gina all came out and helped to clean the lodge and the ceremony site and transform a rustic lodge into an elegant country shabby chic reception hall. When all was done, everyone's jaw dropped at the hall's sheer beauty and perfection. |
| June 7 |
Hair appointment at 11am. Susan woke up 10 min before the hair appointment, so we hurried to the salon. Everyone's hair looked fabulous. The photographer arrived a bit early but the girls were running a bit late. Boys hadn't even showered. Took the pictures of getting ready in a hurry. Girls didn't have a ride to the wedding site which delayed the photo session. We couldn't find the wedding license which further delayed the photo session. We finally got to the wedding site but was again delayed by last min wedding details. Jarred and Suhi finally took off for their really short photo session. Group photos were taken before the ceremony. Peggy rushed everyone to his/her places for the wedding. Blakely forgot her bouquet but David ran and got it in time, although he almost took the bridal bouquet instead. Brother George mispronounced Suhi's name as "Sushi." Maid of Honor forgot the Groom's Ring. We think a fake ring for the ceremony came from the photographer. Susan informed Henry who ran to David who ran down the hill to deliver a strange ring just in time for the ring ceremony. Everything else went as planned and Jarred and Suhi were married. The reception was simply perfect and the food was finger-lickin' good. Everyone had a good time dancing, drinking, talking and enjoying the night sky. Thank you everyone! Jarred and Suhi spent the night at the Pin Oak Lodge. |
| June 8 - 11 |
Honeymoon in the Great Smoky Mountains. We stayed at Christopher Place in Newport, TN. We had originally thought that our B&B would be in the midst of the tourist enclave around Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge, but it turned out to be a good forty minutes away. We were glad to be even more away from it all than we had anticipated. The first night, after about six hours of driving, we stocked up on supplies at a local Wal-mart and headed back to the inn to stay until our time was up. Our room, called Roman Holiday, was decorated with faux marble and busts of Julius Ceasar. We had a huge nice bed, a purple chaise longe, and a two-seater hot tub right in the room. The place had its own private hiking trail, which we took advantage of on our second day, rewarding ourselves with a nice lunch at the summit, mostly from the picnic basket Cheri had packed for us with just that kind of thing in mind. We had two nice dinners on the premises along with complimentary breakfasts, one of which we had in our room. The room had a beautiful view and easy access to a lovely balcony complete with old-timey rocking chairs. Very nice. IN addition to lots of quality time in our suite, we enjoyed some time in the inns swimming pool and in its upstairs rec room, complete with complimentary soft drinks and pool table. After three days of this, we packed up and headed back to Lexington, stopping briefly in Sevierville for some souvenir shopping. When we arrived back in Lexington, Granny had cooked us a huge supper - roast beef with potatoes and carrots, cream corn, butter beans, back-eyed peas, dinner rolls and cornbread, fruit salad, and banana pudding for dessert. Not such a bad way to end it. |

After three days of honeymooning in the mountains, we packed up and headed back to Lexington, stopping briefly in Sevierville for some souvenir shopping. When we arrived back in Lexington, Granny had cooked us a huge supper - roast beef with potatoes and carrots, cream corn, butter beans, back-eyed peas, dinner rolls and cornbread, fruit salad, and banana pudding for dessert. Daddy and Cheri came and we got on Granny's computer and looked at all the work Nancy and Ann had been doing, compiling all of their digital photography (along with Jean's and Cheri's and maybe others) into computerized slideshows with music called Photo Parades. |
| June 12 |
We went to Jackson for one last day of West Tennessee culture. Mom, Mallory, and the two of us went to see the new Harry Potter movie, then had a quick cup of Joe before heading back to town. Suhi and Jarred then went to Savannah to spend our last evening in Tennessee at Nancy's house. She and Ann had been hard at work compiling all of their photographs from the wedding and editing them into Photo Parades to distribute to all our family and friends. They're really very nice. We also recorded the wedding videos onto DVD. Daddy and Chris manned the grill, meanwhile, and produced some tasty hamburgers, hot dogs, and grilled veggies. |

Went to Granny's to tell them bye and pick up some things left from before the wedding. Of course, when we got there, Granny had pulled out all of the leftovers from Friday night for us to have for lunch. It was just as good the second time around, and we ended up taking some to eat for dinner on the plane. After a last-minute packing frenzy and some melancholy good-byes, we hit the road, with Mom and Jack, in Granny's car (which they had graciously been letting us use for most of our visit). We were barely in front of a severe thunderstorm as we got onto the interstate, but after a bit it looked like smooth sailing (though we later heard about some tornado warnings in Henderson County). We hit some bad traffic around Dickson, and were virtually stopped for almost an hour. We got off the interstate and took back roads. Meanwhile the storm was catching up to us. We finally made it to the airport - thanks to some good map work by Suhi - and made our plane in time, though Jarred was very concerned that this might not happen. The plane ride was fine - long and uncomfortable, but fine - and we arrived in Oakland on time, got our bags, located our shuttle after a bit of confusion, and were finally dropped off around 11pm local time. Suhi was exhausted, but hungry, and we were both testy from our day of travel. Finally we got to bed for a good rest. |
