We have tried here to provide enough information for all of our guests, especially those coming in from out of town, to figure out where the wedding is, how to get there, where to stay, and other helpful things.

Where the wedding is

The wedding will take place on the grounds of Natchez Trace State Park, which is just north of Jarred's hometown, Lexington, TN. The nearest airports are in Memphis and Nashville, both about 100 miles away, so please feel free to choose whichever suits your travel plans and budget.

Directions to Natchez Trace State Park:
Natchez Trace is located in Carroll, Henderson, and Benton counties in West Tennessee. It lies 35 miles east of Jackson off of Interstate 40 between Nashville and Memphis. Take Exit 116 off of I-40 to the parks main entrance. For a map and specific driving directions, visit MapQuest.com.

What to do

Lexington is close to sevreral major civil war battle sites.

Shiloh Battle Ground: The two-day battle in Shiloh, April 6 and 7, 1862, involved about 65,000 Union and 44,000 Confederate troops. This battle resulted in nearly 24,000 killed, wounded, and missing. It proved to be a decisive victory for the federal forces when they advanced on and seized control of the Confederate railway system at Corinth, Mississippi.

Other nearby civil war battle sites: http://www.nps.gov/shil/pphtml/attractions.html

Beech River Lakes: A beautiful 1000 acre lake located in Lexington is ideal for family fun; boating, swimming, water sports, picnics and camping. Great fishing year around, (permit required) with miles of beautiful homesteads.

Casey Jones Villege in Jackson, TN: Within the Village, visitors can relive the “Steam Age” or railroading by touring the Casey Jones Home and Railroad Museum, featuring the restored home of the engineer himself, as well as a life-size replica of Casey’s 328 locomotive.

The International Rock-A-Billy Hall of Fame: Rockabilly! Exciting musical history! A Country music sound with a blend of the blues! Films, Audio tapes (and more!) the artists tell the "stories" and "tales" of their life in music. "Country" music is the rock of rockabilly", said Carl Perkins. See it! Hear It! Live It!

Graceland: Home of the king! Elvis's legendary mansion is just 100 miles away in Memphis, where you should be able to find all kinds of things to do.

Where to eat

Grecian Family Restaurant
741 West Church Street
Lexington, TN 38351
(731) 968-0111

The Grecian is Jarred's sister Mallory's perennial favorite and the site of many lunches with Granddaddy. They have a seafood buffet on Friday and Saturday nights. Mallory recommends the charbroiled chicken breast. No greek food.

Huddle House
732 West Church Street
Lexington, TN 38351
(731) 968-3943

Huddle House has diner-style food and good breakfasts and is yet another option for the charbroiled chicken breast afficianado.

Famous Chinese Restaurant
50 South Main Street
Lexington, TN 38351
(731) 967-9613

Grand China Restaurant
738 West Church Street
Lexington, TN 38351
(731) 968-1988

If international cuisine is your thing, you could do worse than these two all-you-can-eat family style chinese restaurants. Overall, I gather that people prefer the first for flavor and the second for variety, but maybe that's an unfair generalization.

Hays Smoke House
93 College Drive
Lexington, TN 38351
(731) 967-3222

Scotts's Barbeque
10880 Highway 412 West
Lexington, TN 38351
(731) 968-0420

These are just a couple of the many, many barbeque restaurants in the area. If you have time, you should check out some of them. That, if anything, is what we're famous for, food-wise.

Cracker Barrel
188 Vann Drive
Jackson, TN 38305
(731) 664-1028

115 Gumbranch Road
Dickson, TN 37055
(615) 441-3353

For a nice country-style meal on the way to or from the airport, check out the Cracker Barrel. They have excellent breakfast combos and pretty good dinners at an amazingly low cost. They also have a country store attached to each and every restaurant, perfect for last minute souvenire purchases.

The Catfish Grille
516 South Broad Street
Lexington, TN 38351
(731) 967-9228

Monroe's Restaurant
4363 Highway 412 South
Parsons, TN 38363
(731) 847-2477

If you'd like some southern-style seafood, you might want to check out these places for batter-fried catfish and hushpuppies. The Catfish Grille is not bad, but for the really high end stuff you might want to take the 20 mile trip down to Parsons and Monroe's famous catfish platters.

Finally, we are also proud to offer access to all of your finer fast-food type places, such as Domino's Pizza, Pizza Hut, Long John Silvers, Taco Bell, Dairy Queen, Burger King, McDonald's, Wendy's, Sonic, and lots of other classy stuff like that. Most of these are located on Lexington's main drag, West Church Street. If you're into Red Lobster, Chili's, Outback Steakhouse, and other such suburban culinary mainstays, you'll find them and more like them in Lexington's big sister city to the west, Jackson.

If all else fails, click here.

Places to buy things

Walmart
647 West Church Street
Lexington, TN 38351
(731) 968-5212

Walmart, of course, has grocery, pharmacy, and other retail goods for low, low prices. If coprorate giants don't scare you off, this is your best bet for one-stop shopping.

If that's not your bag, check out these local merchants:

Super D Express Rx
6 Hospital Drive
Lexington, TN 38351
(731) 968-6654

For your pharmaceutical needs, Super D provides pretty much what you'd expect without the hassle of a trip to Walmart.

Big Star Super Market
128 West Church Street
Lexington, TN 38351
(731) 968-2086

Again, pretty much what you'd expect without the massive commitment of trudging through the double-wide aisles at Walmart. Might cost a little more, though.

Old Hickory Mall
2021 North Highland Avenue
Jackson, TN 38305-4949
(731) 664-5319

Old Hickory Mall is the nearest full-blown shopping mall to Lexington, just in case you forget your wedding clothes, or can't go more than a couple of days without seeing a Gap.
