A long-time competitor of RJ Brande, Leland McCauley has been a thorn in the Legion's side almost from day one. He even created his own Work-Force to rival the Legion. While he is not truly evil, McCauley's motivating factors are greed, envy and selfishness and he is not known to let morality prevent him from turning a profit. He was almost responsible for the destruction of the universe when he tapped a spatial anamoly as a teleportation device for the Affiliated Planets but was able to come out smelling like a rose in the end. He has taken every opportunity to undercut Brande himself, taking advantage of the Blight invasion and Stargate Rift incident to replace Brande as President of the United Planets.
Ra's Al Ghul has assumed McCauley's identity and role as president and based on some skeletal remains found by the Legionnaires in a drainage tunnel, it would seem that McCauley and his companion, Amilia Crugg, are dead. |
