We should all take more time to look about us and become one with it, nature that is.��There seems to be so much rushing about these days, everyone trying to cram as much work into the day, flitting here and there, never �noticing the world around them. �Missing the beauty of a cluster of wild flowers along the roadside ... �the fresh green on the�new tips of evergreens or the graceful flight of a delicate butterfly. �These are here today, just�last a short time, and �are gone tomorrow,�What marvel did you let pass by you today?�Oh listen,, sounds like a storm is brewing......

languid summer day�

warm, sun filled sky

gentle breeze blowing

clouds darken the horizon

slowly creep ever closer

sudden change in the air

heavy, ominous

breeze stops for a moment

everything stilled, silenced

distant rumblings

rolling low, wave-like

to a crescendo

O the crash!!!

now a new wind blows

espectancy fills the atmosphere

large drops slowly begin to fall

steady constant rain

beating a staccato

in your ears

quickly turns to downpour

air fills with steaming scent,

as cooling rain mixes

with earth's hot surface,

becomes swollen with humidity

bright jagged flashes

slash thro' the sky

awesome display as light

dances on dark canvas

waves of thunder assaulting

with long low rumblings.

listen raptly, sensuality stirs

eyes closed, feel the pulse of the rain

sound birthed faraway rolls in

nearer and closer until it CLAPS

LOUDLY...BOOMING!!

a release in the tension

eventually rain slows to a steady beat

relaxing, invites sleep
