1944 Alternative Fuel VW's!
What alternative fuels were used in the days past, and what did the systems look like. (If it burns, use it!)

Installing American-style window rubber!
The american style rubber is the kind that HAS the aluminum trim in it. A bit of a pain to install.

Fixing a broken exhaust stud (Type 1)
What to do when you have a stripped, snapped or pulled exhaust stud.

How to remove a VW Beetle engine
Here you can see how *I* remove engines, my way is easier than the one you see shown in the books.
I pull the engine out sideways, from under the fender.
Go here for some step-by-step instructions regarding engine removal.

How to make a bolt-on rear apron for the beetle
This is how I made the removable rear apron. Makes engine removal and installation SO much easier. I also made access doors under the fender for easy spark plug removal. I plan to make another removable apron for my 68 convertible, which will be more "race" style, the entire rear end will come off. But that's going to be visible on the outside, this one is invisible.

How to fit a larger Type 4 oil cooler into the Type 1 fan shroud
A very nice and easy way to get more effective oil cooling for your street engine. Invisible to the outside, and no extra hoses or other potential leak sources. Just replaces the stock cooler with a larger one. Requires welding/riveting.
