There's one detail in the article I would recommend against, they suggest you should use vaseline or silicone spray as lubricant to help installing the rubber... This is a BAD idea, as most petroleum based lubricants EAT rubber, there's a risk that the new rubber will slowly melt or deteriorate, when it reacts with the grease. I would strongly recommend using SOAPWATER instead of grease, it is kind on the rubber and it DRIES OFF with time, which helps to keep the rubber IN PLACE later on. You can also use talcum powder if you happen to have some, but I have had good results with soap water. I used the kind of dishwashing liquid you use when washing dishes by hand.
Another tip: Instead of using just some regular piece of string, use suitable size insulated wire, it glides much easier.
